So, the crappy bowls are out of the way now.

Please remember that attendance figures are completely fudged and will include vendors, security, press, band, cheerleaders, players, free tickets given away, etc.

If you look at the pictures of these bowl games, you will see a huge disparity in the announced attendance and what is actually in the stadium.

Frisco Dec 19 11,029 Ohio San Diego State this one should just go away.

Bahamas Dec 21 13,510 Florida International Toledo a destination bowl, probably brings in tourists in a slow season

Gasparilla Dec 20 14,135 Marshall USF this bowl game should just go away

First responder Dec 26 16,000 Boston College Boise State if you search for attendance on this one, there are plenty of jokes. Should go away

Camellia Dec 15 17,710 Ga Southern E Michigan should just go away

Famous Idaho Potato Dec 21 18,711 BYU W Michigan no one wants to go here. Even BYU right next door did not bring in any fans

Cure Bowl Dec 15 19,066 Tulane Louisiana not much point to it

Boca Raton Dec 18 22,614 UAB N Illinois sure it is in Florida, but the UAB fans could not be bothered to drive over

New Orleans Dec 15 23,942 App State Middle Tennessee a destination bowl since it is in New Orleans

25,000 attendance is OK for a bowl game, if you can get that, the bowl game is viable

New mexico Bowl Dec 15 25,387 Utah State N texas two border states, but did better than the potato bowl

Birmingham Dec 22 25,717 Wake Forest Memphis Memphis fans could not be bothered to drive three hours to the bowl game

Quick lane Dec 26 27,228 Minnesota Ga tech it is in an enclosed stadium, for the winter. No way were Ga Tech fans coming up north.

I'm not sure I understand your complaints.

A Ticket Sold is a ticket sold.

Bowl Games sell Corporate tickets. Anybody who is anybody
in th community buy those tickets and hand them out to employees
and/or clients. But the bowl game got their money. The Sponsor
of the bowl is footing the guarantee. So the bowl ain't out
anything.

They move their starting times and day of broadcast for the TV
money. (Which the sponsor loves). They want their name repeated
on TV just as much as they can.

Also...you might want to look at the stadium size and compare that
to the crowd. The Camelia Bowl only seats 25K. Getting 18 thousand is good for them.

The sponsor and the host city also get tv ads abiut their product/
community free of charge. The warm weather cities love that
advertising.

You must still be sore that the lowest attended Bowl Game in
Major College History was the '62 Gotham Bowl between
Nebraska and Miami when only 6,100 showed up fot the game.

Do you like college football? If so, why does it matter? Watch or don't. I will never understand the issue with soooo many on having lots of bowl games. We all know which ones are the big ones, but it's still football to watch and they're playing OOC opponents.

What was the attendance of Nebraska's bowl game this year? Asking for a friend.
