You know what, I think it's Russell Wilson. The guy is a baller, and he's got the stats to show for it. He's got moves, he can chuck it down field, and he's gonna have some big ole' boys blocking for him.

Russell Wilson is just going to be the face, he comes in with a lot of hype so he will prevent teams from stacking the box against Wisconsin.

it will be one of those Wisconsin running backs.

Russell Wilson makes sense. He's a terrific athlete and is crazy accurate with the football from what I've seen. That Wisconsin OL will not let him get touched, he'll have Montee Ball in the backfield to hand-off to, and he'll be passing to Nick Toon.

Ya, Nick Toon is overlooked. He was banged up and had turf toe all year last year. He re-aggravated it a bit this summer, but I think he'll be a little closer to 100%.

There's a couple other receivers that I think Wilson will turn into stars this year, Jared Abbredaris and Manasseh Garner.

I like the idea of Ball or White getting the honors, but I think we have to watch out for Denard Robinson...too... He's not a pure passer, and they gave him a West Coast system, but Hoke has said that they're going to use the qb draw to keep teams honest.

Wilson didn't impress me either time we beat him. He lead his team to a whopping 3 points total in the two games combined.

NC State sucks. In the 2 quarters I watched of their bowl game last year, I think I saw 8 drops by the receivers where Wilson put the ball right where he should have. South Carolina is a good enough team to exploit that.

The Badgers are better than that.

There really are three different ways to judge the best player. Way #1 is simply going with the most talented player, regardless of situation. Way #2 is looking at stats to see who had the largest impact. Way #3 is the player who best leads their team to success.

Using the first method, I think it is probably Mike Adams from Ohio State. He is a dominant tackle against the pass and the runs and plays smart. Of course, he will be suspended the first five games and has a lot of character issues, so he is out of the question for the second and third method. If we are talking pure talent, though, I think he has to be the best.

Using the second method, I think it is either Denard or Marcus Coker. We all know what Denard can do. He can run for 100 yards against just about anybody, he is a surprisingly accurate passer, and he DOMINATES lower level teams. He fills up a stat sheet like no one else, and I think he has to be considered the favorite for Offensive POY. Marcus Coker is a solid back who will be heavily utilized as the only legitimate running back at Iowa. I don't think it is that crazy to expect 20-25 carries and 120-140 yards per game, which turns out to be really huge numbers if you multiply it out. The other guy to be considered in this method is Levonte David from Nebraska.

Using Method #3, I think Russell Wilson has to be the best. He is a charismatic popular leader, who is intelligent and level headed. Wisconsin needs a quarterback who won't make dumb mistakes and he fits that bill well. He probably will only throw around 300 passes, so his numbers won't be huge, but I suspect he will be the team leader on the best team in the conference. That makes him a candidate for the best player in the conference.

Not sure my opinion matters much in the grand scheme of things...

Wilson will make Wisconsin a much different team to defend against...

Wisconsin is the old huskers in new times... Big powerful line, run, run, run, middle screen... in your face football... Man I miss those days... Now with Wilson, teams will have to defend a different type of QB... who can throw when it suits him and has a set of wheels too.

My opinion of the Big Ten is as follows;

Wisconsin & Ohio State is probably the two best (talents) in the Big Ten... before the season starts...

(We) Nebraska could get there if all comes together and we gel... but we have a pretty daunting schedule with a lot of games that could turn on a play or two..

Michigan State was good for the most part all last year... so they could be in the mix with a few breaks here and there...

I cannot discount Michigan (Brady Hoke) teachings... he will have their "D" playing much better ball this year... if he does and with that qb on "O"... well... every team will have a fight to get a "win"

Sleepers to me are; Iowa and Penn State... both could ruin a season for any other team in the Big Ten this year... Yes (smoke) even Ohio States... would not be surprised to see Iowa be 9-0 going in to the Michigan State game

Then you have Northwestern who will continue their fast pace "O" and will be in shootouts with many teams this year...

Purdue next... but I do not know much about them...

Illinois... well, I suspect they will be better but I am not up to speed on what is happening in their camp... so a little bit of a mystery for me..

Minnesota... will get better year by year under this coaching staff... may not be able to get top recruits that others get... but they will not come out and lay down... I suspect..

Indiana... meh... when does round ball start?

So, to start the season I say the following; (Top to Bottom)

Wisconsin
Ohio State
Nebraska
Michigan State
Michigan: Iowa: Penn State
Northwestern
Purdue
Illinois
Minnesota
Indiana

Denard Robinson will have to play good against big 10 teams to get best player in the big 10

playing good against teams like the directional Michigan schools and Notre Dame won't make him a good player in the big 10.

Makes sense to me. He's magical! Look at him levitate that ball. Not like that weak Northwestern guy who actually has to hold it.
