I see Patrick only had a few minutes of ice time. Did he get hurt again?

Weal scored 1st, Weise scored 2nd, Raffl the fuckin scoring machine scored 3rd. And Simmer with the EN goal for a 4-2 win.

By my calculations, Gudas has one more game on his suspension. Sanheim and Alt both play about 12 minutes while Provy went 28 and A Mac 25.

It said in the ESPN box score that Gudas was a scratch and i was wondering why it didnt say suspended next to his name.

I wondered that also. I went back and counted that as his 9th game.

Really strong game from our boys in this one. I probably haven't said that in over a month.

The first period went scoreless, but we held the edge in shots, penalties drawn and overall play. Obviously did not score on the power play, but it looked strong at times.

We saw basically the good, the bad and the ugly with our special teams, but were mostly solid all over the ice at even strength. Gave up a shorty early in the 2nd, but then came back with a really nice tic-tac-toe power play goal five minutes later. Giroux at the point to Couturier wide (where G normally is) to Weal in front for the nice goal inside the post. Weal was in the spot normally occupied by Simmonds. So, that's something we could go back to again.

Later on in the period, believe it or fucking not, Dale Weise snapped home what I think was a shockingly quick wrist shot on Brossoit that beat him clean five hole. This was assisted by Giroux and Simmonds. I think Weise had just come on the ice for Couturier and he may have been the only one in the zone. Truly a surprising goal to give us the lead.

And so, we took a 2-1 lead entering the 3rd period and again struck quickly to seemingly put them away. Raffl gets a clear breakaway and pumps it home high blocker side. 3-1 Flyers just four minutes in.

Later in the period, things got very tentative and I don't think we played well for the last 9-10 minutes. Elliott made a huge save to keep it at a two goal lead, then we had a big defensive lapse a couple minutes later, which led to RNH scoring.

From then on, I thought we were getting the puck deep more often and killing the clock until Laughton took a bad holding penalty in the offensive zone. Russell sold it big time and the Oilers were in business with a power play with 3:43 remaining. Now, for the life of me, I cannot understand why they didn't pull the goalie to make it a 6 on 4. Well, they should've, because we killed it off and Simmonds scored on the empty net in the dying moments.

More secondary scoring though, especially with goals from Weal, Weise and Raffl. Overall, pretty pleased with the effort. Elliott really didn't have much to do, minus a couple of good chances or so and we only took two minor penalties the whole game. The team defense, for me, was way better in this game overall than in recent games.

Special teams still has to improve, but the penalty kill did get the job done. I am still shocked that they didn't pull the goalie for the 6 on 4, but that's on them. Glad they didn't.

I'm also going to say that the replacement Alt may be a better option than Manning right now anyway. Why? He doesn't take stupid penalties and he may even be stronger defensively. He just doesn't hurt us as often.

If stupid penalties is a measuring stick they both deserve to play over Gudas.

Really...how am I supposed to know that or how relevant is it? Lol

They don't list that anywhere and I didn't get that close of a look on the bench.
I just read that Neuvy and Manning are on the injured list and was wondering who we had as back up yesterday.

I see that, but you would find the silliest, most insignificant question to ask...Lol

Based on capfriendly, it had to be Alex Lyon. I didn't see him to be sure though.

I am sure they go with Elliott again tonight, even on short rest. Lyon won't get the start.
