I don't know if it happened. I know McQueary's story has evolved over the years. As I said before, he has been skewered (rightly so, IMHO) for not calling the cops from the locker room instead of running home to Daddy. None of this was in the original story. It came out when McQueary was suing PSU for wrongful termination. The best way to win that? Point the finger at someone else and show they weren't fired even though they were just as bad.
