Kelly will be a good fit at Florida IMO. The dude can put the X' s and O's together.
I don't believe it was their first choice though.
MEH... I did a little research on Chip.. i read he actually started as a defense coach early in his career then switched over to offense .. but as we have all seen .. as a head coach you are ONLY as good as your coordinators.. so.. as long as he doesnt hire whoever was his dc at oregon to come to Florida i mau be inclined to get on the chip train.. but he better hire SOMEONE with insight on SEC defenses and will be able to right this with ours.. cuz im about to commit homicide on whoever has let ours go to shit this year.. its so bad i don't even know who is the DC right now without looking it up..AND don't EVEN get me started on the S&C coach.. fiery car crashes come to mind in that area of concern

O'Rly? Frost was far from their 1st choice. So, who then?

LOL. Sure he was.

Florida was either told to go pound sand, or they weren't patient enough to have to wait until potentially Dec 3rd.

Spurrier was on the Buddy Martin Radio Show and said he believes the Gators will have “an excellent coach here in 3-4 weeks.” He went on to add: “The coach is with his team now. The coach we’re going to hire is probably, I would almost 100 percent say is coaching his team today, this weekend, and through the end of the season, and maybe through the bowl game.”

Yeah, I read that yesterday and it's typically cryptic! Through the bowl game...it's like he means the coach we hired is still with his other team to finish the season.

Yeah, those schools are not going to stop pursuing the New Years 6 bowls and potential CFP. If a coach is not getting them there in 4-5 years they are goners. Losing seasons after 3 is completely unacceptable.

Sometimes it will be a little longer ... a good stable program is necessary to get excellent recruits. They want to know that the coaching staff isn’t on a merry go round. If we lose to ohio state and Wisconsin this year we will be 8-4. That doesn’t mean I’m throwing the baby out with the bath water. Alabama, ohio state and Clemson are top notch programs that aren’t going away ... the fact that we having improving programs isn’t going to change that.

Except there's no obvious choice to fill that position. When both Texas and Michigan were ending their previous coach's seasons, it was very obvious who the primary choice was going to be.

You are seriously wasting everyone's time here. Go back to pimping Harbaugh. It's at least entertaining.

I've been hearing all along that there are 3 candidates.. chip is probably 1.. but 2 are current coaches.. so .. if you know how spurrier is about that you should probably take the with his team now and will be til end of season and bowl game to heart..

That is interesting. When was that?

Ahhh, no. We need someone who can challenge Saban on recruiting and scoring, not the USF Bulls.

Your comment makes no sense. You commented on the Texas situation, I commented and said it was obvious that Texas was going after Herman, well before they fired Strong. You state I didn't know Nebraska fired their previous AD (which I did know)? How are those comments connected?

Nebraska's new AD has no obvious choice that has any connection to the program. So the situations are totally different.

LOL. The dumb continues. :L

It's Turner Gill you flaming idiot.

Chip is a Spurrier/Meyer type. Big on innovative offense. Perfect fit for Florida. I have no doubt he'll bring them back.

lol Turner Gill? Are you honestly suggesting that's Nebraska's home-run hire with connections to the program? You mean the former failed Kansas head coach who was literally one of the worst coaches is program history at Kansas? "During his tenure at Kansas, Gill had a 1-16 record against the Big 12; the one win against Colorado was also one of only two wins over an AQ team. His .208 winning percentage is the third-worst for a non-interim coach in school history."

Yeah. We gave Pelini 7 years. He never had less than 9 wins and a few 10.
However, he was a lazy recruiter and couldn't get Nebraska to major bowls.
Holiday and Gator bowls don't meet blue blood standards.

Then it’s time for him to go ... when you have the right coach, you’ll know.

Now hold on a minute. You're crossing the line by bringing up Jimmy Jam's name in this thread. Although since you mentioned that asshole in ann arbor's name did you know he's a much better CFB coach than Osborne was because Mr. Harbaugh played in the NFL & Osborne didn't. all hail you know who.

You just said Turner fing Gill was the obvious choice for the Nebraska head coaching position and then have the balls to call my comment stupid?
