socal we should have been up by 9 at halftime. I expected better play calling in the 2nd half to counter our oline problems. We were in this game despite all the injures.

Huh? They possibly could have been up by 9 except for a bad snap on a FG. How is that the offense's fault?

The offense couldn't convert the Elliott fumble and other drive to TD's. The offense was basically blanked in the 2nd half. The defense kept us in this game some people don't want to admit this.

Of course they were. As the game wore on they were more injured & inexperienced, lesser players are going to be exposed over the course of a game. You make it sound like it is easy for Gruden & Cousins to make up for OL shortcomings by play calling. I think that you would be surprised that this is not that easy in the NFL.

NAh, I think the team has the what if syndrome badly. And portions of the fan base have the same problem.

What IF we had a guy like Wentz. What if we sign Cousins long term and pass up on the next Rogers.

But Im curious, if by some chance we dont make the playoffs, and they do still resign Cousins long term, are you going to abandon the team, or just constantly remind us of how we could have drafted (insert player) and how it was a mistake??

BTW Dean - put yourself say in Moses shoes - two bad legs & playing alongside guys who he doesn't even know & in rainy weather. That is an almost impossible task & over the course of the game it is going to benefit the defense. Not an excuse - just reality. Not sure why you blow that off so easily.

BUt our defense is light years better than last year.

Mind you spoiled milk is light years better than dog shit.

If you take five pounds of ice cream and five pounds of Monkey crap and mix it together you just have 10 pounds of rubbish. The team is such a dumpster fire the bloody Steel Curtain with Tom Brady starting couldn't bring this year's squad to a decent record.

Of course not. The team is always above the player. Some of you don't understand that. The cost is going to be 30M per season if KC is resigned long term. I will give you my opinion on this matter after the season is over.

IN a perfect world yes.

In Redskins land, we have seen the exact opposite quite a few times.

Again - that works on the assumption that spending more $$ is the answer. How did that work out for the Giants & B. Marshall? How about the Skins & Pryor? How about the laundry list of failed big $$ FAs for the Redskins?

The issue is making the rt decisions & making sure to keep using the draft as your primary means of improvement. They can keep Cousins (& again he is not going to have a $30 M cap hit & Dean knows it) & other players & still keep this team going in the rt direction. This of course is assuming health. If they keep having injuries at the current rate I don't give a shit who is QB - it ain't happening.

I will say this, aside from his performance, and his demeanor one of the main reasons I desperately want them to keep Cousins is because he is NOT at risk of becoming teachers pet and thus a dividing force on the team. I think he is a franchise QB, might never be elite. But more importantly, I think to Dan he will just be an employee, not a buddy or arm candy.

I think THAT is what might make keeping him a great idea.

socal was giving free passes out yesterday. That didn't sit well with me at all. I started this thread from what I saw last night.

Post 85 you stupid shit. You weren't talking about SoCal. You were attacking me.

Just admit to being wrong and would be much better off.

Will never happen. This isn't about being a fair weather fan - this is about someone who has this burning need to always be rt & always feels justified in ripping the coach and QB. How any rationale person expected the Redskins offense to do well yesterday is beyond me. The O line was probably on par w/ replacement teams from the 80s yet somehow Dean "expected more". Pllleeasse.

Here is how he labeled a fair weather fan:

A fair weather fan is a fan who is not involved. Always a built in excuse. Does not WATCH or break down games

So now I am "not involved"? Whatever. I watch all the games & no I am not like Collingsworth in breaking down every minute after the games, but how in the hell does that not make you a fan? There are tons of diehard fans who don't spend their lives analyzing tape. That is just a ridiculous statement.

I will match my fandom against his any day of the week. For starters I am an unconditional fan. I don't root for them only because of who plays QB, coaches the team or acts/talks the way I prefer. It doesn't mean that I always agree with them or may be pissed at certain team members, but I will always be a Redskins fan.
