Wentz is very good, big and powerful, but if he keeps running the ball and dropping his shoulder on the defense as he has lately I am afraid that he is going to wind up like Aaron Rogers in one way or another. But for now with his running for good yardage he is getting the job done. Should be a good game.
This game much like every game before has been challenging so I expect nothing less here. Let's talk about what went right and wrong in game #1 vs the Eggles:
Right:
Limited Eggles running game. Bell cow Blount had 46 yards on 14 carries.
Limited Wentz' running lanes when he did take off allowing 6 yards on 4 carries.
6 different receivers caught a pass
good pressure on Wentz with 2 sacks & 9 QB hits
Close game entering 4th qtr
Kerrigan pick 6
limited to 2 penalites
Wrong:
lost turnover battle 3-1
Cousins sacked 4x
run game limited
Cousins inaccurate
Ertz & Agholor killed us as do most TE's
Gave up 8/14 3rd down conversions
Lost time of possession by almost 10 minutes of play
We can and will correct a lot of the wrong. Plus, I don't expect Crowder will fumble again this year. Have to crank up the run game. Gruden & Co should be dissecting the Eggles front 7 in an effort to create more running space with design, personnel and situational football. The Eggles are a good team but so are we.
HTTR!
on defense we need to generate pressure and lanier has to step up big time . if our d/line cant force bad throws we are looking at FM playing way above his level of experience as well as hosley
its fitting for halloween we're fielding the walking dead on defense ....
with all these injuries we're going to get beat down
unless the offense can find a way to out score them
I happen to work with about 55 of the mouthiest Eagles fans on the planet so I pray to sweet baby Jesus to deliver a skins win on Monday night.
Should be interesting game. Eagles are the hot hand and the safe bet currently. I will be shocked if they are less than 5 point favorites at home.
But again it should be interesting none the less.
Washington (+4.5) at Philadelphia, 48.5
Manusky should challenge his defense this week with a bet. The bet is, hold them to 21pts or less and he buys the entire defense dinner.IF Philly scores 30 points, I would expect to see Tomsula and Munusky to put on helmets and walk onto the field after cutting two defensive players.
