Sociopathic behavior/tendencies are also medical disorders. To paraphrase Whodini and their song "Friends" Let me ask: "how many of us have them?"

could you just tell everybody that ...

Are we talking about the same medical industry that has systematically declared that the majority of our children have some form of unbalance that requires them to be on drugs for life? The same medical industry that has'nt found a cure for any major or even minor nuisance since they found a cure for polio. But they have sure worked with the drug companies to make sure they can treat the symptoms of every thing from Aids to cancer to most of your STD's... well as long as you can afford it and have good insurance.

The Medical industry fucking loves it when they discover some new ailment that will require those that have it to take drugs and visit the doctor every month for life.

Yea that medical industry.

Hey, hey, hey, there....Now wait just a doggone minute mister...... Let's get this straight,There's little money in cure....tons of it in treatment. We all know that self preservation is the first law of nature for every profession.

Sure they are. But does any of us have any sympathy for the Uni-bomber??

What we are....is a judgmental society, who, under that same individual microscope, become extremely uncomfortable.

Stop being cynical. People are as pure as the driven snow. Can somebody explain that saying to me?

'Driven snow' is snow that has blown into drifts and is untrodded and clean.

If I ever murder a bunch of people, feel free to be judgemental and put me to death.

I've actually thought about this as a second post retirement career.

The state calls me in......

I ask the accused if he/she has any thing to say.....

they respond with something like, "I'm not going to do it again!

I counter with, "I know, have a seat."

Then it's..........

Seriously guys, there comes a time for real self scrutiny on issues like this. While there is immense profit in the health care industry, the science is either reliable or it isn't. (and it is BTW)

If we are going to question new (and old) scientific findings based on greed, where does that leave us with respects to helping those who need it?

I agree, do something that the average citizen doesn't do, ask questions, research the care that you're getting, be involved in your own care then recognize that there must come a time where decisions have to be made. What will you rely on then?

Perhaps it bothers us to look deeper when someone commits a crime, perhaps it's too close to the edge of the rug where that pile of shit that's been swept under it remains.

To me it's not a choice between Hernandez side or the side of science, but rather a question of who do we want to be as a people.

Oh, I do believe the science is real. I think they try to speak to definitively on the actions of those affected.

When we stop questioning things, we stop learning.

Damn we have some smart people on here.

I just don't care about the excuse, unless it is revenge. I understand revenge.

I want to be the kind of people that execute murderers without feeling guilty about it.

these are good questions ...

maybe because boxing is fake ?

:D:D:D:D

i dont have an answer for you tho

have you watched the movie ?

I have not and I don't want to come off as if I know what I am talking about because I don't. As I mentioned I heard that one doctor that I referenced and he is pretty prominent in the research.

I don't want to say like a Richard. We know head injuries occur. Years ago my Dad talked about going down to an old home in Philly where a lot of old boxers were with his best friend who was a professional boxer before breaking his ear drum. Uncle Gus went to see these guys and to help look out for them.

I don't want to minimize head injury in football, boxing, MMA, rugby etc. I just wonder if we aren't blaming everything that happens to an ex-NFLer on CTE now. It is the now thing to do. What happens to every day folks that have CTE or want to commit suicide or kill someone ... where did they get their CTE from? What about guys like me who played football until I was 18 and then started again at age 23. I have bad knees but if I have CTE I don't think I am affected by it. Aren't some things that happen to old football players just normal aging factors. Again not all because I would imagine some is due to head injury.

I think we need a lot more research and I encourage more caution and hope for better equipment..

Hernadez was a thug way back.

How come boxers doen't seem to have as many problems with CTE?

I heard an interview a couple of weeks ago with the doctor who evaluated a bunch of ex-NFL players and said most had CTE. He also said we do not really know what it does to them we just know they have it. :noidea:

Aaron Hernandez: Former Patriots Star Accused of Murder - Rolling Stone

When you get a chance read this article if you have not already (pretty lengthy). It provides the root cause for Hernandez' issues. His real dad did a good job of raising him & his brother & Aaron was pretty well behaved during this time. However his dad passed away suddenly when he was 16.

After that time his lame Mom hooked up with a scumbag drug dealer & it was all downhill from there. His problems started occurring shortly thereafter & it just felt like he was bound to get into some type of trouble (even after having Tebow for a roommate for one year at Univ of FL). If his family ever gets any money from the NFL I sure hope that the family of Odin Lloyd gets a huge % of that money. Lloyd is the victim in this - not Hernandez.
