i guess my opinion right now ... & i could be wrong ... because i am no medical expert

but i am thinking PTSD is emotionally fucked up ... but still understand the difference between right and wrong

while CTE ... physical change ... they have no control of themselves cause they coo coo ?

Just a clip..

Something happened to John Allen Muhammad in Saudi Arabia that fundamentally changed the man who once had been the "life of the party," his ex-wife said.

When he returned in 1991 after a three-month tour in the Army, Muhammad distanced himself from others; he was confused, pondering his direction in life, according to Mildred Muhammad. She believes untreated post-traumatic stress syndrome brought on by that deployment may have been a catalyst for the bloody rampage that gripped the region more than a decade later.

Trust me , its not just having a bad day and you know whats right from wrong. I have seen the gambit. In GOOD cases, guys just turn into a dick, might cheat on their wife or silly things like that. I have seen some guys that basically become shut ins because some one in their life made them get help, and even then they decide its safer to not be around people.

The results of both are similar, just the cause is different.

I realize that. But the original question was... does the fact that Hernandez apparently had CTE make me feel any different about him.

My answer, I feel for him that he ended up screwed up, I feel for the child he left behind. But then I also feel about as much remorse as I would for some one with PTSD who one day decides they cant cope and kill some one.

In good, manageable or rather managed cases yes they do. In untreated seriously traumatized cases... not so much. Ever heard the term going postal?? It stemmed from ex service members working for the postal service and just snapping at some point. Now 40-50 years later we know most suffered from PTSD

does this change our perception of him ?

I know learning about CTE had a huge impact on how I view the Chris Benoit tragedy

Not at all. He was a murderer. The NFL is not responsible for that because he was always thug like from what I understand.

CTE is likely to cause depression from what I understand. As a matter of fact, I know a young man who had no issues until he had his head collide with a tree on ski trip. Within a couple of months, suicide.

Benoit may have had CTE. He definitely did ROIDS.

have you watched the movie ?

roids does not cause that kind of rage

what he did was premeditated ... not a fit of rage

Hernadez was a thug way back.

How come boxers doen't seem to have as many problems with CTE?

I heard an interview a couple of weeks ago with the doctor who evaluated a bunch of ex-NFL players and said most had CTE. He also said we do not really know what it does to them we just know they have it. :noidea:

I know Chris had an excess amount of testosterone in his system which increases the chances of violence. Committing suicide afterwards makes me think remorse afterwards which screams basic insanity.

From what I have read, it can cause this in extreme cases.

No I haven't watched the movie because it is a movie. It is made to be compelling. Come on man.

you dont watch movies ... because they are movies ?

:think::think::think:

it sounds like 90% of the people here have not watched it ...

and have come to a conclusion based on something they have not watched, lol

it sounds like men being stubborn burring the head in the sand refusing to listen
