He said this on the Mike and Mike show this morning. He claims it was abuse leaving Beathard in with a pulled muscle during the bowl game against Florida. I can't post a link I am at work. I don't recall this being an issue during the game.

I only have a problem with it If Beathard himself had a problem with it.

I'm guessing he wanted to play.

On yea, I remember that. Ferentz was beating him with a freshly oiled whip driving him away from the sideline and back out onto the field. Horrible thing to watch. Really turned my stomach. /sarcasm off. Fuck Cunningham and his social justice warrior mentality. What size panties does a big bastard like that wear anyway? He and Mama Cass are about the same size.

We don't care about Ed Cunningham.

He wants players to quit hitting each other in a contact sport.

Could you imagine him giving you orders in a fight?

Yeah..he was comparing that to letting someone play with a concussion.

The media is giving him a lot of attention. This guy has been covering football for a long time and made a lot of money off of football. Now hw ants to throw Ferentz and football under the bus.

I also think we give coaches too much responsibility when playing players with possible concussions. They have trainers on the sideline whose only responsibility is to make sure players with injury are ready to play. They have far more training at noticing a concussion. If they told the coaches, "It looks like he has a concussion. Don't play him." then blame is on the coach. If they say he is okay to play, then it is not on the coach.

Okay..I don't why he wants to bad mouth Ferentz.

It was the Outback Bowl was the "final straw". He didn't like how Beathard was handled. I don't think he was so much attacking Ferentz as a coach, but how he handled that one situation. He is basically saying, "I have seen it too many times and I just had enough when I saw it with Beathard. Outback Bowl is not that important for Beathard's health."

Walking away because he doesn't want to see it, or have his job involved with it.

Because he wants to further his agenda to pussifying CFB. Fucktards like this will use anything to keep the subject in the limelight.

I've seen linebackers play with a broken arm.
Players play with broken fingers regularly.

They're out there because they're competitors and want to be out there.

He said he thought about going down on the field a confronting Ferentz. I was just surprised by his comments. I watched the game and didn't recall at one having a problem at the time.

There is a difference between broken arms/fingers and head injuries. Players are well aware of concussions and injuries. They know there is a risk. If they don't want to take the risk, then quit. Now, the coaches have a lot to think about and have short time to think about it, so they rely on athletic trainers. Trainers must have said it was okay.

I think that was just a figure of speech. I don't think he was serious. It was just what he was thinking.

Of course there is a difference between broken arms/fingers and head injuries. Beathard did not have a head injury. He had a pulled muscle in his leg.

I've played with a pulled groin and it sucked, but coach let me play because I told him I could and wanted to. I was playing WR on offense and DB on defense. It got worse as the game went along and I finally got burned on a long route so I told coach I was hurting the team by being out there. But it was on me.

Seems like CJ is playing pretty well in SF less than 8 months after this "inexcusable abuse".
