We beat this to death last year (2 years ago?) but my main gripe with season 2 is that I could not have cared less about any of the characters. They weren't interesting or likeable and when you have a mediocre plot you need to hit it out of the park with character development. They failed conclusively at that.

After the big shootout which changed things a lot, I thought the rest of the season was pretty good.

Dunkirk is wild. I'm a history buff and a big Christopher Nolan fan so this was a no brainer for me.

Ryan Reynolds has been busy posting about Deadpool 2. Two of the anticipated characters:

Gotta admit, it took me a while to notice Deadpool in that pic

Was the ending supposed to be a surprise? Or was it supposed to be as telegraphed as I thought it was?

It was OK, nothing we haven't seen, didn't add any new elements. And it was wildly predictable. I think they said they're doing 2 more that will lead into the original.

I agree with you both, but the one bright spot for me was Katherine Waterson. I am not sure I have seen her before but I thought she was great.

The acting itself was superb. But like nasty said. So predictable. One new element would be the involvement of David in manipulating the alien reproduction to the egg. (I guess that's new unless I missed that before or didn't understand that part) I don't like that addition at all. I liked believing before that they just evolved on their own.

And why introduce the original race so much in the start just to wipe them out like they did. I wanted more back story on them

Yeah, Danny McBride is great.

I liked the beginning, I liked the end. The whole middle was a complete mess IMO. Plus the surprise switch was not.

I'm actually kind of disappointed in myself for never realizing what a great comedic set-up this situation could be, with everyone constantly and extremely nervous about saying/doing the wrong thing (with potentially dire consequences). It figures that the same guy who made "In the Loop" would figure it out and make it happen. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

In The Loop was great.
