The sad thing about Griffin is there was some talent there if he had been more coachable. I don't know if it would have panned out for him if he had been more receptive to coaching and less worried about his public image.

Although I was against drafting him, I thought in that first season "if he can do this before he learns to play like an NFL QB look how good he could be when he does learn." Sadly it hasn't worked out for him the Redskins or at this point anyone else.

He never recovered from the first injury he suffered on draft day, here is the recently released photo of this gruesome injury that derailed RG3's NFL career....

It is likely he would not have held up physically. He was his own worst enemy also.

I found it interesting that they also talked about the pat Luck is headed down. Neither he or Griffin might be the best QBs drafted that year.

RG3 isn't athletic enough to be a wr. He'd trip and stumble running every route. I have never seen a football player as uncoordinated as RG3. I still love the guy but no way could he handle any other position.

Reality check: Andrew Luck down, RG3 likely out

this must be beat up RG3 day . look at what he said about the chargers w/o and the ravens ?

Bloody hail back in 2012, if you had told me that RG3 and Kapernick would be out of the NFL, and nobody would want them I would have said you were bollocks.

Luck however had a great season despite his shoulder injury:
Andrew Luck earned career-best grade in 2016 season despite shoulder injury | NFL Team and Player News | Pro Football Focus

However how long can he last with them piling up?

What I got from this is Dan protected his son Robert, and Mike protected his son Kyle.
It is amazing how Snyder manages to protect his image while destroying others. This is the 2nd time the Shanahans have said, yeah Robert was a limited jerk -- but the person HARDER to work with and ultimately who ruined things was Dan. You can see the same thing happening with Kirk.

Responses to this should be interesting. :pop2:

He completed 63.5 percent of his passes in his best season.

He has never had a 100 rating for a season.

He reminds me a lot of Bob except his body has held up a little better. Now he is often injured and they want to take his legs away to preserve the rest of him.

8-8
8-8

Those are the last two seasons for Indy in the worst division in football.

But, he is the greatest.

Preaching to the choir boss. Remember, Im the one who has said all along, if a certain Redskins QB had been drafted top five in the 2012 draft, Dan would have made him one of the best paid athletes on the planet. IM not going to say Luck is over rated, but I think his draft position does buy him a fuckton of lee way.

Luck doesn't have much of a team around for one, but he does seem to be a pick machine. I too think hes over rated but I like his never die attitude he has. I remember he was supposed to be "the best qb coming out in the draft since Elway" he hasn't lived up to that

my brother said the other day skins can afford his tag this year so why not make it a do or die year again if he balls we will pay if not if he play like shit then we dodge a bullet ( kirk would have to play horriable) plus kirk likes 1 year deals kirk will be fine this year we will give him what he wants

A very good question @dad....to me the the combination of poor timing, lack of confidence, a lack of the conventional NFL structure all contributed to the current situation leading to a possible San Fran reunion. The latter being the biggest factor of them all.

Since you've mentioned it, I have a question for everyone. In retrospect, and a dead certainty that Kirk walks after this season with no possibility that he signs here, when would have been the best time to trade him for maximum benefit?

you cant period . it doesnt pay too. you would have to get a 3rd rounder or above to make it work and on a half year or less rental i doubt it happens at all

Maybe I was not clear, so, knowing for certain that the end game is Kirk to S.F. and at best a 3rd rounder for us, would it had been better to trade him in 2015, 2016, or before the draft this year?

My confidence in Bruce Allen makes whale shit seem high. I knew back in 2015 that this team wasn't going to sign Cousins long term. To me those holding onto the notion that Kirk would be signed year after year, suggested that they were pitting "doing the right thing" against some confidence in Allen to do that. Not me!!
