Series Thread: NBA Finals: Warriors vs Cavaliers

What do you guys think of this trade (works out salary wise)...

Hornets get: Love, Shumpert, Frye
Cavs get: Batum, MKG, Marvin Williams

Tough one.

I think this deal would certainly help the Cavs match up with the Warriors, but I don't see it getting them over the top. It does add another long wing defender, which is good.

What I might worry about is whether or not it hurts them against the rest of the East. It probably doesn't matter, but still.

Also, would Charlotte go for this? I know they would have two years ago. But now? Not so sure.

To be fair I was only there 36 hours, basically just saw the real touristy stuff, got into it with a whore usher at the baseball game, and got ripped off at the hotel we stayed at.

Really? I went to San Antonio once and thought it was pretty cool. There's that Riverwalk with all the bars and restaurants. Granted, I was only there for a couple days and was working, so I didn't get to do a lot, but it seemed like an alright city to me. The shoe shine dick at the airport fucked up a pair of my shoes, but other than that, I've got no complaints.

Wouldn't want to live there or anything, but it was alright.

I lived on the East side of SA. With Texas cities, you have decent areas that are right down the street from really sketchy areas. At some point the Riverwalk gets old. I like the Riverwalk when I passed through SA with a friend right when I got out of the military. Coming back in 2014, I ended up hating it over there. Yet here I am again, living in Texas.

I see this Dubs team being around for the next 3-4 years. This thing will come apart from the inside though. A lot of variables moving forward are Steve Kerr's health as well as Jerry West and how long he'll hang around.

Gotcha. You would have a vastly different perspective having lived there than I do. If I lived there, I'm sure I would no longer give a fuck about Riverwalk, but if I'm in SA a couple, two-tree nights a year, there are definitely worse places I travel to.

If the Cavs can pull it off, they should. I don't know if it's enough to get them past the Warriors, but it'll get them real close.

Problem is they still have James and the ownership will have to run it by him to see if he will authorize the deal.

Kobe Bryant was 5-2 in the Finals.....the 5 is in the right place.

Kobe Bryant only twice faced a team on the same level as the Lakers talent wise and he won 1. The other 4 they were clear favorites.

That is why Finals record is such a pointless stat. Does anybody really think that the Lakers' beating a terribly overmatched Sixer team where Kobe was clearly second fiddle should help his resume, while at the same time LeBron losing to an all time great Warrior squad while playing great hurts his? It is a silly argument to make.
