If Gillaspie's clock on rehab started on May 23rd (when he played his first rehab game with Sacramento), then the FO has until June 11th to activate him. However, if the clocked was reset with his break between Sacramento and San Jose, they have until June 23rd to make a decision. It seems the Giants are taking their time with Gillaspie's rehab (versus Hill's). Gillaspie disappeared from the Sacramento roster quite a few days ago and wasn't on San Jose's roster until recently. What I don't know is if his rehab clock has restarted (i.e. he had a "setback" and the team is allowed to re-start the clock) or if the days in between being on rosters doesn't count or the team is close to having to make a decision on him.
COTS only says this about rehab assignments: "A club may send a player on the DL to the minor leagues for a rehab assignment lasting a maximum of 20 days for position players and 30 days for pitchers."

Assuming he has to be activated by June 11th, and the FO decides to keep him on the roster, do you think that Calixte or Tomlinson gets sent down?
I also believe that Michael Morse is eligible for activation tomorrow. However, I haven't heard any updates on his progress.
At this point, the 100% focus should be (and is) on 2018 and beyond. If they think they can get ANYTHING for .Hill or Gonor, they will get PT. If at any point they feel their trade value is zero, than I suspect they will be cut loose. Morse was signed as a favor because he is a "Giant". He may stick around more as a player coach than as anything else. He hasn't taking PT away from anyone, so no harm, no foul. If they NEED the spot for any reason, he will stub his toe.Gillapsie might be able to fetch something, so I expect the Giants to activate him when he's ready and showcase him. But I do think his clock restarts.
As for Morse, A: concussions are no joke so they will take their time, and B: he's useless in a trade so the Giants will probably take their time anyway.

He strikes me as a Yakee-type. Not sure why.Makes sense. Worked out for Milwaukee last year.
I feel like Nunez needs to be traded STAT. I heard Yankees might be interested.
The Spanks have a major logjam in their OF. Maybe something can be done there...He strikes me as a Yakee-type. Not sure why.
Yeah, maybe tell them we'll take Aaron Judge off their hands. Throw in Strickland to show we are nice guys. Maybe a steep price on our end but just want to help out their team figure out how to fix that logjam. The Spanks have a major logjam in their OF. Maybe something can be done there...

Nah. That's not it...Same

IDK, might create a log jam on our side too. I mean, where does Pence play?
Declined.
Still no word on the 25-man transaction...Sam Dyson added to 40-man roster, Bumgarner transferred to 60-day DL.
Giants have said he will not be activated until Friday EARLIEST. How long can they keep him off the roster? I am sure they have no internal rush. They basically just want to send him to extended ST for as long as possible.Apparently Dyson will not join the team until Friday in SF.
I thought I read somewhere that a team has three days to either add a player acquired in a trade to the 25 man roster or make some other assignment. However, I don't see anything in COTS that mentions that timeline in trade acquisitions.Giants have said he will not be activated until Friday EARLIEST. How long can they keep him off the roster?
