Celtics should had pulled the trigger at the deadline. You need superstars to beat LeBron in the playoffs. It's been pretty clear cut for the last decade.

^ That's within the realm of plausibility... although, if I'm Chicago or Indiana, I might demand the #1 pick as part of any Butler or PG13 deal.Well first off I haven't really offered any tangible deal between the Sixers and the Celtics. IF the Sixers wanted Fultz and IF the Celtics were interesting in possibly trading the #1 then I think there are ways that a trade would come through.
IMO, what might make the most sense for the Celts is to trade down, get some assets from the Sixers then trade the #3 to get PG13 or Butler.
I disagree with you here. Not that the C's don't have a lot of guards, but they are also set at SF.flyer said:The truth is that the Celts don't need Fultz. They DO need a front court presence. Based purely on need they would be better off drafting Josh Jackson than Fultz.
If Fultz is the better player, and most draft experts seem to agree he is the clear #1 in this draft, then I'd say take Fultz.flyerhawk said:So even if we table a secondary trade, would the Celtics be better off drafting Fultz or drafting Josh Jackson and getting a future #1 pick?

It's at least interesting/considerable with Okafor in there... and JO has been rumored in trade convo's to Boston in the past.#3, Jahlil Okafor, 2020 OKC 1st Round Pick for the #1 seems like a fair deal.

Which is why they shouldn't trade the pick for Butler.
Fultz, IT, Horford, Hayward makes a really strong core. Adding Butler does not put them on the level of Cleveland or GS, IMO. I think you will see them building with the idea of being good now, but great in 2-3 years. I would rather have Hayward and Fultz than Butler.
Yuck.
Okafor shouldn't even be on a roster. He should be in the D-League developing.
Do you honestly believe the 6ers would trade All that to move up 2 spots?
LOL.
That deal is probably bad for both sides.
It's interesting.Okafor doesn't do much to solve the Celtics rebounding issues, but his interior scoring would be a huge plus. The Celtics don't have anyone who can get easy buckets around the rim. Horford is definitely a perimeter big and his rebounding might be helped by putting him at the 4 instead of the 5.
If you're able to take Jackson with the 3rd pick, you could start IT, Bradley, Horford and Okafor, then go get a max free agent like Hayward, still draft Jackson and you'd have him Crowder and Brown to round out your wings. That's a pretty dynamic team there.
It's interesting.
That's a huge glut of wings, though... Hayward, Crowder, Brown, Jackson... all 3's... with Bradley/Smart playing the 2 and Okafor/Olynyk playing the 4... it's gonna be hard spreading around the minutes.
Really? You do realize that Embiid could end up being the best player of his generation? Colangelo is an idiot, but even I don't think he is that stupid.Wic Grousbec (Celtics Owner) says that the Celtics will NOT trade the #1 pick unless some team "Blows Us Away" with an offer.
Butler.................Chicago had a chance to deal him before the deadline to the Celtics. They got greedy and it went to hell in a heartbeat. Ainge isn't going to revisit another shitstorm.
George...............Openly stated to the media that he will finish out his contract and go home to LA. What don't you understand about that? Home to L.A......nuff said.
Melo...................Celtics have absolutely no interest in an old, selfish shooter who can't play defense and won't mix it up for a rebound.
What I do see happening is the Celtics and Sixers working a deal.
Celtics send the #1, Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley to the Sixers for
#3, Joel Embiid and Dario Saric.
If they do draft him and it's an overload of bigs, they could always trade one. Kosta should be traded anyway, the Kings could get something good in return and the young guys need to play most of the time next season. Even if they don't get Isaac with Fox, I'm just happy they moved into 5th so now they can get Tatum, Jackson, or Fox. As of now I'd take Fox out of those 3.That does makes sense. I forgot they drafted PapaG last year. I do think Collins would be a good compliment to both WCS and Skal, but that would be an overload on bigs. Isaac may slip to 10, but out of the 3 you mentioned he is the only one with a slight chance to be available.

I think Celtics would have done this a year ago. But Okafor's stock has dropped and not sure he is the defender that C's would like. If Sixers still had Noel -- that may have been the deal.
