Agreed on Martin, not so much on Moss.
Moss wanted more money and regretted his mistake the second Bill pulled the trigger.

Martin just flat out left.

That’s exactly why I left Martin off. He left, which bothered me some. But he left for the Jets. Which pissed me off.

Martin just flat out left.

Martin started with the Pats in 1995 and played through 1997.

Bill Parcells convinced him to leave with him and play in New York where he played until 2007. He actually didn't play in 2006.

In my opinion, Parcells was such a strong influence on Martin that he believed he would win multiple championships if he stuck with Big Tuna. He missed out on three.

By that logic you definitely shouldn't've picked Ty Law, who shot his way out of town, and then went to...the Jets.

True. Ty put 10 solid years into the Patriots. Went to the Jets had 1 good year and then became irrelevant. Martin left in his prime and became a HOF player for the Jets. So it hurts me much more than Ty leaving.

Good list.

Mine is a slightly different than yours. I decided to go with two RBs and one TE so the offense could run out of the power I formation. On defense I switched it up to a 3/4 set so I could get Nelson and Buoniconti on the field.

QB-T. Brady
RB- J. Nance
RB-S. Cunningham
WR-S. Morgan
WR-W. Welker
TE-R. Gronkowski
LT-B. Armstrong
LG-J. Hannah
C-D. Koppen
RG-L. Mankins
RT-M. Light

RDE-W. McGinest
NG-V. Wilfork
LDE-J. Adams
LB-A. Tippett
LB-S. Nelson
LB- N, Buoniconti

LB-T. Bruschi
DB-T. Law
DB-M. Haynes
FS-L. Milloy
SS-R. Harrison

K-A. Vinatieri
P-R. Camarillo
KR-K. Faulk
PR-J. Edelman

Yes. I think Stanley Morgan and Cunningham belong on this list.

Fair enough. The way Law left bugged me way more...all the "I gotta feed my kids" and faux police foot chase shenanigans to try and force BB to cut him. I'll take Raymond Clayborn.

Yeah yeah yeah....And Pete Carrol regrets not doing more to keep him too.

He left for the Jets.
Unforgivable.

Does everybody here feel that Curtis Martin was a better RB than Corey Dillon? I know Dillon only had one GREAT year with the Pats but man did I love watching that dude.

Man.... I don’t even remember him saying that crap. Once a millionaire athlete uses the “I need to feed my kids” line, I’ve lost all respect. Clay born it is!

Dillon's '04 was the best single season I've seen by a Pats RB. Considering their overall 3 year tenures, it's pretty close, though...Dillon had one spectacular year and two decent years as mostly a short yardage/goalline guy. Martin had three good to really good years...guess it could come down to whether you value consistency or peak. Or maybe whether you prefer the traitor who jumped to the Jesters or the Olympic class a-hole?

2016 LeGarrette Blount.
I might take Blount over Dillon.

I remember a game in 2014 he was doing either KR or PR and the commentators reaction was
"A 245 lb RB that can run a 4.45 is doing KR's? That's just not fair."

The phrase is ridiculous but I have some respect for those athletes who are serious business people and take the business of football seriously particularly for themselves. That's all that Law was doing. Not like someone like Revis who was manipulating the system every year to get the best contract.

1635 yards and 4.7 YPC vs 1161 and 3.9. Blount was great that year no doubt, but I think if you put '04 Dillon on the '16 offense, he could've pretty easily racked 18 TD's, too. Not too sure you could say the same about '16 LG matching Dillon's output if you put him into the '04 offense.

That's kinda how I feel. Dillon carried the offense in 2004 from what I recall. Blount was the recipient of a spectacular passing game IMO.

Agreed - not sure I would have Welker or Moss on that list. Moss was a short term rental and Welker just didn't come through when it counted... I'd have Stanley Morgan and Troy Brown mainly due to sentimental reasons.

I would sub Leon Gray in for Matt Light.... Hanah and Gray was probably one of the best, if not the best, tandems at Tackle/Guard in the league.

Hannah and Gray were definitely the best - but mostly because of Hannah and the fact they worked well together.....
