With Peyton Manning ready to move on or move out of Denver, the Broncos’ focus is on re-signing quarterback Brock Osweiler. But the Broncos may not be offering Osweiler a lot of money, at least by the standards of an NFL starting quarterback.

I'M it depends on the length of the deal. If this is a two year show us what you are it's fair, if it's 5 years Brock should tell Elway to pound sand and refuse aby future Bronco offer.

Just another reporter that has no idea what the offer is

The Denver Post reports that the offer the Broncos are making Osweiler is “likely to be more than Los Angeles Rams quarterback Nick Foles$12.27 million per season.”

Don't you think his play this yr will be enough to get one of the qb desperates to roll the dice on him and offer a big contract to him ?
Then Elway has to match it to keep his best shot at a winning season without PM.....

That's a lot for a guy who hasn't ever started a full season in the NFL.

Exactly. It's pure speculation, although Elway's history and his comments on getting an extension done suggest to me that Elway isn't prepared to over pay for Oz.

"In Elway we trust" Ole number 7 will find a way to lock up Oz. Hopefully, we go short term "whaddayagot" type of deal.

Agreed. I hope the offer is for only two or three years, which seems consistent to me with what he's said: "... this won’t be his big contract, but this will be a contract where he’ll be able to make very good money and be able to prove himself that could lead to that next big contract.”

Denver could win with any QB behind the helm, that D is that good

Pretty much my thinking too, Sonny. The trick is to maintain a strong defense, improve the running game, and get a QB who can at least manage games. Also need some luck, as does every team, at avoiding key injuries. All that still doesn't guarantee anything, but, to me, that is the smart approach to take.

I agree TD and fortunately PM did just that in playoffs where he was horrendous when he tried to throw the ball. Here were his no#s vs Hoyer, another bottom QB

Brian Hoyer QB HOU 11 369 33.5 224 60.7 2606 236.9 49 19 7 25 185 91.4
Peyton Manning QB DEN 10 331 33.1 198 59.8 2249 224.9 75 9 17 16 95 67.9

He's a punkass kid...

who totally dominated and humiliated Tom Brady.

If it stayed that good every yr but as you well know, things change from yr to yr....Contract disputes, suspensions, cap casualties, injuries, coaching changes, and of course the SB afterglow....Of the which players let down, and other teams plan specifically to beat that D....
As aggressive as the Ravens D was for yrs, it got solved and that Bronco D will get solved too....
I think BrockO is their best chance with what else is available but he's a long way from a lock....
I don't think they will even make the playoffs this yr unless they can lure an Eli or Rivers away from their team to come over.....
BrockO is getting paid IMO....

Never know, he played well enough a few games to warrant a long-term deal, but he also played bad enough to make him questionable. I wouldn't want my team to see him as the franchise QB just yet.

What I am saying is if they keep that D intact, the best pass rushers in the game with Miller and Ware and imo the best secondary in the game with Harris Jr,Ward and Talib, they dont have to sign a QB to big money. Like TD said, just get a game manager that doesnt turn over alot in the game and they will dominate. Hell the D scored more points than the offense did the first half of the season and they still won
