How do you figure? He's only scheduled to make 800k this year.

yeah but if he balls out and plays at the level he did before his troubles happened he could ask for a big contract and I dont think the hawks can afford to pay all these players

Is this an intelligence test?

Anyone who traded a 2nd rounder for a player one suspension away from a lifetime ban would be quite an idiot indeed.

If they offered to GIVE a second rounder in order to take him off their hands, I'm still not sure I would do it. He's literally inches away from a lifetime ban and still hasn't shown any sign of a change of behavior. While he was begging the league to reinstate him, he was hanging out in vegas with Manziel. I can see somebody making on mistake and learning from it. I can even see some idiots getting in trouble for the same thing 2-3 times before realizing he can't do it at all. Gordon had already been caught like 306,892 times and still hasn't learned his lesson. At this point you just have to realize that he's simply not capable of changing.

That would be after the season though. If he balls out this year for a team that trades for him, his contractual demands for next year forward could end being a very good thing.

Hell to the NO!

One slip, he has slipped many times now, and he is done in the NFL. And the slip can even be something minor that wouldn't be that consequential for most players. That makes his talent not worth the risk.

Now, would I take a risk on him he were a free agent? Probably, if he were to interview well.

Isn't he out for good if he gets pinched again?

Tempting with my teams WR situation, but I don't think I would. 3rd maybe.... Depends how the interview with him went, how much he'd really want to come over, etc..

Not sure why they drafted Elliott and signed Morris......it's going to be an interesting depth chart at RB. They have 3 guys that could all start.
Send one to NE. Blount looks like a former shell of himself right now. Lewis may be out for the season?

As for Gordon, no way I'm giving up a 2nd. I don't know if they would take a 4th for him? But, if they did I would risk a 4th. Nothing higher than that.

Funny i mentioned Blount and higher in this post.

Grissom, Logan Ryan, Duron Harmon, Jake Bequette, Ridley, Mallett, Taylor Price, Brandon Tate, Tyrone McKenzie, Shawn Crable, Kevin O'Connell, David Thomas....

That's the last 12 uses the Pats had for a 3rd round pick... couple decent DB's :D

And did the same thing for my Eagles. Based on what we have gotten (since drafting Westbrook in the 3rd round), I think I would take that chance with a 3rd.

Well yeah the cardinals do not need a WR your core is pretty set it wouldnt make sense to make a trade

Well if your an eagles fan yeah a 2nd would be a lot because you guys are not title contenders. If your team has a good year then your 2nd rounder would just be a glorified early 3rd rounder

I wouldn't offer more than a 5th. Think about it- who's more likely to be on an NFL roster in two years.

Definitely wouldn't consider him in the top 100 so he'd probably be a 4th rounder at the earliest but only on a team that has a franchise QB with a big arm.

He'd be a 7th rounder for a team like the Chiefs.

Yeah, I was probably Pushin' it by offering a 5th rounder.

Hmmm, lets see..

2015 DJ Alexander and James O'Shaughnessy
2014 Chiefs Aaron Murray (is he making it over Tyler Bray for the 3rd spot?)
2013 Sanders Commings
2012 Dequan Menzie
2011 Ricki Stnazi and Gabe Miller

So the last 7 5th rounders before this season you have 1 guy (DJ Alexander) playing for a 2nd string spot (behind Derrick Johnson), 1 on the roster (3 if Murray keeps his job and O'Shaughnessy does both were late 3rd/4th quarter guys last pre-season game)

Even 4th rounders... best is who? Deanthony Thomas might make the roster as a return man... Ramik Wilson might be a ST linebacker and 2nd stringer. The last 15 years the best pass catcher gotten by the chiefs in the 4/5th rounds has been Samie Parker.

Looking back over previous drafts, 4th round picks average about 33 picks a year (supplementals), and average a total of around 30-35 seasons combined where they are a starter for the majority of that year. About 75% are not starters more than a single year.

It's a tough call... We all love the upside stories on getting that steal in the 4th.. but that's once a decade usually.

Talent is there no doubt. Just the off field issues is my concern. Even a #1 pick doesn't payoff 100% of the time. Then there are the guys picked 199 or go as an UDFA that have great careers. Drafting is a crap shoot. Sure you think you can mitigate the potential chance for a bust by good scouting, workout and interviews. But you just never know. With Gordon you have a known talent but you also have a known knucklehead. Too risky for me. Besides I'm tired of the BB reclamation projects.
