that's simply not logical
Maybe the most iconic of the 20th century. Who else was as big? Bogart? Chaplin? DeNiro?

NicholsonMarlon Brando and Clint Eastwood are really the only ones who might be considered as iconic in the 20th century.
I think Tom Hanks has had a wonderful career. It covers quite a bit of time but he's done some real good work.Nicholson

Yeah but i so enjoy watching seagal ruthlessly take down bad guys, breaking their arms backward, making them shoot themselves in the head, etc, so it pains me to give him the nod, lol
Nicholson
Arnie's pretty awful too. But he looks the part and can do stoic & stonefaced which is pretty much all those action super badass parts call for. So if we eliminate all of those I'll go with Ashton Kutcher. I don't think he's been mentioned. I do like his little candid camera rip-off, but as an actor he sucks bad.

I consider Hanks the best actor ever. Cast Away, alone, puts him AT LEAST in the discussion.I think Tom Hanks has had a wonderful career. It covers quite a bit of time but he's done some real good work.
I'm a big Depp fan, he plays some interesting characters. I love Tom Hanks in A Road to Perdition and also Catch Me If You Can.I consider Hanks the best actor ever. Cast Away, alone, puts him AT LEAST in the discussion.
But ICONIC?
I am not sure he is there yet. to me, "iconic" includes some eccentric-ness, and Hanks is more of a chameleon. I would not describe him as eccentric at all. I would consider Depp more iconic, and I am not a fan of him at all.
Hard to point to one person.Iconic, no doubt, but I'd give the edge to the Duke.
