The NBA is the ultimate re-tread factory.

Coaches routinely get multiple nonstop chances.

Its the sport of Saunders/Van Gundy neverending carousels.

I think he will. He's a great offensive coach and offense sells tickets. Many of the offenses we see today (including the Spurs) are basically D'Antoni's system adjusted to the personnel. His offensive system is great, however, he needs to learn/accept that without at least an average defense, his offense isn't going to win any championships.

Yup, and now that it is almost time for another new Pistons coach, and we've had both those guys already......:L

The Pistons need to get D'Antoni and Byron Scott to complete the set of triple rejects.

I am sure those dudes will be coaching again somewhere else in less than 4 years.

I here that Doug Collins and Don Nelson are also revising their resumes.

The NBA recycles. That is what they do.

You get about 5 chances to fail.

What about Rick Adelman and PJ Carlesimo?

I don't think Byron Scott will be going anywhere in the near future. He really has a guaranty on this year with such a shitty team and next year will most likely not be much better and both management and the Lakers coach knows this. One difference though - Former players like James Worthy has been stepping in and help Byron Scott by working with the forwards and centers. With James Worthy helping, I don't see how Scott can fail or get fired soon

To be fair Scott brought the Nets to the finals when the East was extremely weak.

I don't Scott is that good of a coach either
