Per SEC website, it looks like Georgia is reviewing options to move up their game with Florida to the 22nd to allowed LSU and Florida to play the 29th. The issue appears to be Jacksonville Jaguars also having a game that weekend.

Georgia should not move their game...that weekend is a sacred time, with rooms booked year in advance.

Any inconvenience should be borne by UF as they are the wimps in this situation

The guy who started this thread thinks all of college football(cfp committee, bowl games, etc) should be put on hold for an entire week, due to .94" of rain. Every single on of the police officers in Jacksonville were killed by Mathew so the Gainesville pd couldn't manage the game being played this weekend.

Florida doesn't want this game, it makes their path to the SEC CCG that much more difficult. Tenn just gifted them the game if they win out in the conference.

Yeah.....Florida doesn't want its biggest payday of the year...a home date worth millions.

Florida doesn't want its biggest recruiting weekend of the season.

About this OD fellow....seems like the description fits you far better than it fits me.

How difficult would it be to simply push the SECCG back a week? That way the LSU-UF game gets played like everybody wants to see happen. So the selection committee meets one week later. Big deal. There's still plenty of time between when they meet and the playoff. As for bowls, it would only affect 2-3 bowls and that would pretty much be to determine whether they would get UF or LSU or Tennessee. I don't see the huge disruption that would make it impractical.

As to the rest of your BS....

Bigger Douche? LSU or UF
Game Thread: - LSU Tigers vs #18 Florida Gators
Florida/LSU Cancelled

Cotdam if it wasn't for this one, I don't know if I would know whats going on. Sorry for even bringing it up, now I'm in the know and understand that all the Jacksonville police died in Hurricane Matty Ice so the gainesville first responders needed to step in.

God forbid anybody should post a lighthearted thread with a different POV from what was posted before.

I'm a proud jackass, yet don't think the entire country gives a flying fuck if the SEC is in the CFP. If I were a fan of any other conference I'd give you the ol

Seriously, know one is that concerned with .83" of precipitation in gainesville. All other teams played. LSU played the Monday after Katrina. LSU was willing to play today or tomorrow. Y'all bitched out.

Actually, you know you're right. SportsHoopla should change it's policies and standards to make it more like the place that failed you came from. It must have been the greatest. Surprised this site is even up and running, y'all had it all figured out.

What does it actually cost anybody if the committee meets one week later?

The amount of precipitation in Gainesville is not the point. Firstly, nobody knew exactly which way the storm would go - ucf also postponed their home game this past weekend. Secondly, trying to play a football game that would be attended by 90,000 people in the midst of a natural disaster would have been ridiculous. Were we to just give the victims the middle finger and suck down lots of resources and impede rescue/cleanup efforts because we couldn't be bothered to simply delay a game for another weekend?

How many cops and EMTs were required for those games? How many tens of thousands of people filled hotel rooms to come watch those games?
