Report: LSU-BYU game could be moved due to Hurricane Harvey

According to a report by SBNation, LSU and BYU are in talks with ESPN to move the game to a different location so it can still be played on Saturday.

“Officials from both schools will meet with ESPN on Sunday to discuss moving the game away from Houston’s NRG Stadium,” the report reads. “Two potential relocation sites are LSU’s Tiger Stadium or New Orleans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome. A source told SB Nation both schools are committed to playing the game Saturday in a different city.”

BYU doesn’t allow its sports teams to compete on Sundays, due to a Church of Latter Day Saints policy, so getting the game in on Saturday, regardless of location, is important for the Cougars.

Ha NRG is (was) only charging 50 for parking. I guess I should cancel my hotel reservations. I just saw a report of a tornado near the Galleria.

Seriously, having gone through several storms and last years flooding, it is more important NRG be available for evacuees if needed.

Only time I can think of this happening to Alabama was back when we had the "hurricane bowl" with A&M. And that was back in the Bill Curry days.

Game got moved to the end of the year.

The time I can recall a UGA game had to be moved due to weather was last year against South Carolina, game remained in Columbia, but was moved from Saturday to Sunday. Me and my grandpa rode out the same storm in the campground at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the race was also moved from Saturday to Sunday.
