My line is a couple years old and I'm looking to re-spool. I hate monofilament and I'm really into the superlines. I love how they don't flex and they're super sensitive to bites. I've been using Spiderwire for a decade or so and like it but it does begin to fray after some use. Wondering if anyone has tried any of the others -- specifically Fireline. I don't think Fireline is braided like Spiderwire so it might hold together a bit more over long periods of use. Any other suggestions? I'm perfectly fine with sticking with Spiderwire, the stuff is great -- just looking to see if any new stuff has come out that's better.

couple years old? how long do you leave it on your reel?

I use Seaguar Red label for my fluorocarbon needs
and PLine CXX Moss for my mono needs.

you have a raft? is it one of those wooden thingies or a rubber one? small HP engine on it?

It's old and I'm in the market for a newer one, but it's just a 13 foot, Hypolene raft with an aluminum frame.

I'm surrounded by big rivers, so we do allot of floating en sech.

Maxima Ultragreen is my go to. The only need for braid is if you're float fishing a river. Stretch in your line is a good thing 99% of the time.

I hate stretch, I also hate the thickness of the non-super lines. I can get 20-30lb braided and it's the equivalent thickness of like 8lb monofiliment.
