Quite a few years ago I went to the Benson & Hedges Blues Festival. It was amazing. Lineup had B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Etta James, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Joe Cocker. A group of us went and got lawn seating because it was pretty much an all day event (and that's where the best partying was). What a blast.

National Championship runs are awesome but most fun when they are unexpected. When you are a heavy favorite that tends to suck a lot of the joy out of it because of the expectations, pressure and stress.

The stress is worst, at least during BCS years, when your team is about 3-7 or so. Stress of falling even further, stress of hoping those above you lose, etc.

2005, I ended up having little stress. Ranked #2 all year. Early, kind of worried, any little mistake and you're out. But then just started killing everybody. No doubts.

Sitting in stands in game after game, my wife said "these games are boring. I liked it better a couple years ago" I said, when we could actually lose the games? WTF?
