I remember Oklahoma losing to a terrible Kansas team at home in 1975 and still winning the NC.
Of course we had just reeled off 31 straight, so there's that.


Also won an NC with one loss to Miami in 1985.
We had to have a little help with that one.

I know all about that. The majority of my cfb fandom life has been mediocre teams.

Some of our funnest years tailgating were when the Ducks weren't any good.

yea, we were just a drinking school with a football team... then you get a season like we had in 2008 every once in a while, and it's a blast... it's basically your chance to give everyone else in the country the middle finger

The unrealistic expectations and lack of historical perspective are what always annoyed about OD (but it was also why I liked his posts) - having a loss should not be unexpected and shouldn't be accepted as an indicator of a change in the teams actual expectations.

I'm not being overboard at all.

If you were a Duck fan that has watched the team's games from Kelly's crew to the transition to coach Helf and the differences you would totally see my point I believe. It still can turn out ok. But right now the cup is half empty.

Running game which is the Ducks staple is lacking big time. Not a single 100 yard performance yet from a back.

A defense ranked close to 100. Just not good
