Still Jackson's IMO. One bad game won't do him in. He'll score 50 TDs in his next game.

I think it might come down to the final two weeks, possibly even Champ week with all that coverage and a chance for someone to have that 'Heisman moment"

It makes you wonder if the UM vs OSU game could have big Heisman implications too. If Peppers has a great game and Michigan wins, he probably gets a big bump, and vice versa could happen if Barrett and OSU have a big win.

"The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. The winners of the trophy epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work. "

Not seeing anything about "best teams" there.

They don't give the heisman to great running backs on shitty teams.

This is true. It should not be, but it is. Foreman likely gets an invite, but does not win. The only issue is there are not a lot of great candidates, so he would be a nice guy to throw money down with some long odds. Averaging ~180 yards rushing a game and that is with a true Freshman QB leading the passing attack.

Last night just made the race a little closer but it's still LJ to lose. If a few have "Heisman" moments the next few games and LJ, suffers, then we might see someone else win.

I sorta asked this last night in the L'ville game thread - and no good answer. Which Heisman winners have horrible blowout losses on their regular season resumes?
IIRC, Baylor lost pretty bad to Okie Lite and Aggie the year RGIII won it.

Hurts has been phenomenal. I think he's going to be a victim of how overwhelming the Bama D is though. They get the Lions share of the props when it comes to the Tide. Tough to win a Heisman in that situation

He ain't gonna win it, my comment was tongue in cheek. He would need to really up his passing game for that to be possible, and even though he showed great improvement against Miss St, I don't see it happening as well against Auburn's defense.

Plus I don't think there is anyway they give it to a true freshman ever.

And a guy actively trying to lose games leading the coaching attack.

Because you are doing word match rather than reading what it's really saying. Because you aren't going to get the things it lists without winning a bunch of games.

A few losses isn't a deal breaker(just look at RGIII for example), but those losses better come because of a lack of defense or whatever, not because the player was shut down.

Unfortunately I don't think Falk gets the attention he deserves. He's in my to three candidates right now

Falk shouldn't be a candidate, since he's not on a great team but he is having a better year than Mayfield or Watson.
