I was thinking the same thing. Raines and Davila are similar players, neither one are all that dependable on offense (although Raines has seen limited minutes so who knows what he can really do). I'd start Eddie at 4 and depending on the team we're playing, start Finney-Smith at 4 along with Davila at 5 and play 3 guards. Dorian Finney-Smith needs to stay at the 3 though if all the reports I read on him last year are true. He's more of a wing player than a traditional post up 4.

I think we're going to see a lot of 3 guard sets this year. Losing JT already hurts our depth. I've heard good things about Robert Brown so I wouldn't be surprised to see 1-Green 2-R.Brown 3-Hudson. Robert Brown is probably the most underrated player in this Freshman class.

Well Do-do probably has a good enough handle that he'll end up taking the ball up the court a lot anyway. I also hope Garland can step up in Green's absence.

I've heard that he could petition for a 6th year if he wants. But after 2 ACL tears you have to think it's time to call it quits. Greenberg said he's focused on graduating in December right now.

Yeah, I've heard the same as well. I've also heard that Thompson was really struggling recovering from the 1st ACL tear. Best of luck to him in his recovery.

He tweeted something to Cadarian (I think, couldnt find it) about not wanting to drive somewhere cuz he was in a boot. And I remember seeing him respond to a tweet where someone wished him luck with his ankle. WaPo also posted about him going to the doctor. Don't know much about extent, but he is most definitely injured.

I always hear rival fans talk about Tech "getting lucky" in football. We're suppossedly the luckiest football program year after year. I gotta say, if that's true, the basketball team more than makes up for it in bad luck.

In reality, part of it's luck, but the majority lies within the players and coaches. The injuries, the transfers, the dramatic ups and downs, on and off the court are all discouraging. I honestly don't know what is missing, but I hope Greenburg can get it all figured out. The team is close, and if nothing else, the program has never been in a better long term situation.

I'm serious about the trainers and the program. With this many injuries over the course of a couple of years, you have to start questioning if there really is something going on. Is it the shoes we wear? Does the floor in the practice facility suck? I don't think its someone's fault as in negligence to one's job, but maybe its something that they aren't aware of.

East Tennessee State is Saturday. Monmouth is the NIT Tip-Off game 1 on Monday. Then Tuesday will most likely be against George Mason. Then off to Madison Square Garden.

Yea usually I get excited about basketball because VT football loses a game, which makes me hope our basketball team can do well. The football team has not disappointed me lately so I kinda forgot basketball starts on Saturday.

VTPhreak tweeted earlier that the only games not on TV/online are Rhode Island and Campbell. That's pretty nice.
