Braves have lost 6 straight and scored only 9 runs in their last 5. Goes without saying to expect low scoring games

That was the sickest curveball I've ever seen Felix throw. just nasty.

The swing through made it look good, but honestly that pitch was hung pretty badly. If it was his best curve it would have ended up at the knees while Hayward swung at the belt.

Zunino really needs to work on being more selective this offseason. When a guy throws nothing but off speed stuff and every pitch is starting at your knees, it should be easy to lay off of those pitches. Just way too aggressive

Huge break there. Now Jackson comes through with an rbi.

Time for Felix to extend that record and we gain a game on NY and Toronto at least.

WOW what a play by Chris Taylor!!!!

Sign this kid up to be our short stop for the next 10 years if he plays that kind of defense

Not used to seeing the Mariners get break like that with Felix on the mound. That dropped fly ball likely decided it. Oh well lets take the mini sweep tommorrow

Be honest... if he wasn't also hitting .356 right now, we wouldn't be getting this excited about his defense. When it comes to the shortstop position for the Mariners since A-Rod left, you just can't get too excited too soon.

Still... that was a hell of a play to throw out a fast runner.

I think I could throw Denorfia for a home run, that dude can't weigh more than 160 lbs. Unbelievable he can play at this level.

Great start to August for Felix. He's in the kind of zone right now that no other Mariner pitcher has been in... probably ever. Even when Randy Johnson had his long stretches of dominance, he was still walking his share of guys. Felix has walked a total of 20 guys in this run of 15 starts with 7+ innings pitched and 2 runs or fewer allowed, with 126 strikeouts. That's a better than 6-1 K-BB ratio. The only pitcher in the American League that is even near Felix's current level is Sale for the White Sox and he was hurt for a month early in the season and therefore doesn't have the starts or the innings necessary to make a proper comparison. He's just on another level than everyone else in the American League this year. Even Kershaw's year can't accurately be compared to Felix's because he missed an entire month. I think his and Felix's stats would still be pretty similar, but we'll never know what would have happened in those extra six starts that Kershaw didn't get.
