I’m likely wrong but I’m not picking against my Phillies. Phil’s in 4.

I think this series goes 5 games, but I don't want to play the Phillies right now.

No official word yet but this looks to be the Phil’s starters in this series:
Game 1 - Ranger Suarez
Game 2 - Zack Wheeler
Game 3 - Aaron Nola
Game 4 - Ranger Suarez
Game 5 - Zack Wheeler

Wheeler pitches great in Atlanta. He’s from Smyrna Georgia and always seem to pitch well down there.

Phillies starters ERA vs Braves this season:
Nola Wheeler Suarez - 3.14 ERA
Taijuan Walker, Christopher Sanchez, Dylan Covey, Michael Lorenzen - 7.45 ERA

How has Walker not started a game yet? He led the team in wins! Also, get off my lawn!!!

Seriously game one is huge. If we could somehow beat Strider that would set the tone.

I don’t want anything to do with Tijuan in this series. In the 7 game format he can be in competition with Sanchez for the 4th game starter role. He is an adventure in the first 2 innings. He’s also been a first half player most of his career. We saw that again this year. I just don’t trust him to keep the Phillies in the game. He would have a short leash because scoring is down in playoff baseball. He would tax the bullpen. Also…his shaky starts leave him with no role in the bullpen. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him swapped off the playoff roster this round for Lorenzen who has experience coming out of the pen.

This should be as fantastic a series as any.
I’m really jacked. Phils are one of the few teams left that aren’t scared of the Braves and won’t be intimidated by the moment. They’re still likely to lose but that’s because the Braves are legit.

I don't know. All I've heard for the past four weeks via Dodgers media is that nobody wanted to play the Phillies and the Dodgers lucked out.

That said, we went to a Dodgers/Braves game earlier this season and the Braves spanked them.

Yeah I was just kidding. I trust Ranger the most. For all the Phils pitchers, the key will be not to walk anybody, cause you know they will hit some homers. Just need to make them solo shots.

I’m gonna say it out loud:

The Braves have perennially fallen short in the playoffs. Acuna, Ozuna, Olson, Murphy etc have always fallen short in these moments. The playoff risers of 2021 are now gone in Freeman, Swanson, their make shift OF that was torrid, etc…. All that’s left is Riley and Albies.

Everybody is thinking it…including the Braves. If the Phils can split down there then that doubt gets even more palpable in the minds of the Braves.

I do love me some Johan though.

I’m so used to the Phil’s farm system being ass. They have some dudes now. The OF is looking down right crowded! I think Bryce is a 1B now going forward.

Yeah I think he solved the problem of who's going to replace Hoskins. I don't know how it will play out with the outfielders but for now I love the platoon of Rojas and Marsh. The defense is so much better than last year.

Actually, Rojas is in everyday regardless of right left. It’s Pache in the platoon. The nice part of Bryce is that you may have flexibility with corner OF/1B. I think Phil’s should be on the look out for one more RH power bat this off season. Shit, add 3B to that list a potential FA could come from because Bohm could move to first full time.
