This could very well be a case of journalists mixing up the names. Would be easy to do in this case.

Different guy named Ford from Louisville for USC. DT I think.

Also has USC quietly won 11 games each of the last three seasons and never seen a BCS game? Hmm....

They are after both Ford's. One of them is definitely not going to the Palmetto State though. ;)

They keep getting hosed by the rule that only allows for 2 teams at most from one conference for a BCS game.

Walker will be the best DT from the state from this class!!!

I wasnt impressed with Nnadi in the bowl game. Walker looks much more explosive. Nnadi would make a great nose guard, but Walker fits our system better imo.

Reading good things about all the guys in various places. VT site saying Gallo a good snapper, always got his guy blocked, or was running all over the place looking for someone to block. Burke even got mentioned on a national site for a big block to spring a RB.

I think they both have the upside to be the two best DTs we've ever seen at VT. Now whether that ever comes to fruition is a different story. Sounds like Steve Sobczak may be just as impressive.

Apparently Ricky Walker had an awesome 2nd half last night. AND Xavier Burke had a receiving TD after running a nice route.

I'm back

All tech kids played well last night. Skill positions the difference in the game. Galo really did well in game however all reports from practice said the D line dominated the O line all week. Never the less he played extremely well. Definitely not a 2 star guy. Burke had 2 splash plays nice route on DT catch and bruising decleeting block. He is a big athletic kid. Walker had a few tackles for loss and got good pressure. He also got rave reviews thru the week at practice making top performers list various times and by all recruiting agencies. These guys gave tech some good pub last night.

I watched the game on TV and let me just say there wasn't much called on the offensive lines in the first half. I saw Walker break though the line and the OL had a hold of the back of his jersey to keep him from getting to the QB, terrible hold, no flag. He got arm barred on one play and fell to the ground again no flag. When he's playing in a real game he's going to create some penalties and get some good pressure on the QB. I unfortunately didn't get to watch Gallo play, but Burke looked like he was doing a good job downfield and in blocking.

Definitely happy with these guys.

Awesome to hear Sphinx! I watched the first quarter and then recorded the rest. DC traffic, bad weather and a 7am meeting on the other side of the beltway necessitated a 5am alarm this morning ha ha. I am looking forward to watching the replay though for sure!

Lately, you seem awfully confident that he is going to flip Hohum.

VT gets the last visit FWIW.

Yeah, I just don't get a positive vibe from this kid. I think he's playing us and been planing to stay in-state for quite some time....hope I am wrong though.
