I think so.

Thankfully, Bama appears to be better than last year's team too.

Whelp...it was a wake up call. I saw a lot of good stuff from VT, mainly their defense played really well against the national champs considering the lack of depth and being on the field all night.

Offense led by a freshman and only one *good* WR showed some signs of life and flashes here and there against the best defense in the country.

I'm really excited for this young team next year and the year after.

Congratulations, and beat Bama.

My thoughts after the loss:

- Tough to see that VT had more total yards and passing in the game and lost
- Time of Possession was darn near close
- The "x" factor IMO were the turn overs and the fact that we lack true WRs and RBs that are big and fast
- I was surprised by the same play calling over and over again in the first half. I felt that we needed to stretch Clemson vertically and didn't do so until too late
- I was impressed with the VT D. Makes you realize that if we didn't lose some of the recruiting battles to FSU and Bama during the Beamer years (Nnadi, Sweat, etc.) this defense could of even be more explosive...

Overall tough game to watch but for this young team I still think we have a legit shot in taking the Coastal and having another matchup in the ACCCG. Hopefully next time in a game of this calibur our prep / adjustments happen sooner than later.

IMO - yes. Their qb is an upgrade over Watson and their D-line is just sick. probably one of the fastest lines I have watched this year. I am VERY surprised we held them back with only 1 sack.
