Didn't Gretzky say at the time that he didn't like being in shootouts and that he told him not to put him in?

If he did, that's news to me. Hasek was unbelievable in that semi-final game for the Czechs.

USA coaching staff waited to shake Russian coaching staff's hands after game and Russia coaches declined and left. #noclass #Sochi2014

@drosennhl: According to translator, Bilyaletinov just said Radulov needs to be scratched "among other things."

RIP Radulov, RIP.

One of the best shootouts you'll ever see with the level of talent (in net and shooting) and option of sending out the same shooter repeatedly after the first three rounds.

Basically, Oshie outduels a combo of Kovalchuk and Datsyuk all by himself to win it.

Typical. But the coaches and players have worse things to worry about right now. Putin and his thug brigade won't be pleased. Neither will the Russian Mafiya who bet big on the home team.

All of them will be on the first flights out of that country with their families and possessions after the Olympics is over and will never want to return. It's still Gold or you're a national disgrace in that country.

Oh please, please let Kovy get his legs broken after the tournament.

Hey, maybe this sending NHL players to the Olympics isn't such a bad thing after all?

I think the Olympics in general are great for the players but shutting down the season for 2 1/2 weeks is not a good thing and it might be hard for some to get back into the swing of things in regards to watching the NHL again, because the Olympics have been so good

But you could easily argue that having Nhl players play on the Global stage for a couple weeks instead of the North American stage will help grow the sport of hockey altogether, which eventually will pay dividends for the Nhl as well.

Bylsma looks so subdued and then for a split second it's as if he's fearing for his life. There has to be some animosity leftover between these two that is just being held inside. Two totally different ways of celebrating though.

:laugh3:

Bylsma rarely celebrates, so that was far from shocking. They have a pretty good relationship actually. I love Lavvy, no shame.

with the way the canucks were playing there was nothing better than to shut it down for 2 1/2 weeks :D
