Ryan Jones special contributor to the DMN has his top 10 list out detailing how they performed in the last week. Must be a serial kind of thing but I haven't seen it until now. Not going to pay for news I already get for free.

Anyway his top 10: Rangers Top 10 prospects report: No. 1 Martin Perez cuts down on hits allowed | Texas Rangers News - Sports News for Dallas, Texas - SportsDayDFW

1. Martin Perez - LHP - Round Rock
2. Jurickson Profar - SS - Hickory
3. Leonys Martin - CF - Round Rock
4. Neil Ramirez - RHP - Frisco
5. Tanner Scheppers - RHP - Round Rock
6. Mike Olt - 3B - Myrtle Beach
7. Jorge Alfaro - C - Spokane
8. Luke Jackson - RHP - Hickory
9. Barret Loux - RHP - Myrtle Beach
10. David Perez - RHP - Spokane

I am skipping what he posted other than this because I've never been big on numerical performance of prospects until it becomes obvious they aren't progressing. These guys are basically dong on the job training and many are raw, high upside guys. I am hoping we can compare his list to our own. I am going to retrieve mine from the "other" board which shall remain nameless.

My first stab at this on the new forum when _____ first rolled it out. If you go over there you'll notice it doesn't even have the date on it. Just says Last week which isn't even true.

Prospect rankings???
Now that the Rangers have made a couple of trades who do you guys think are the top 10, 15, 20 prospects the Rangers have? Losing Erlin and Wieland sting a bit but definitely don't hurt.

Let's see I got:

1. Jurickson Profar
2. Martin Perez
3. Leonys Martin
4. Tanner Scheppers
5. Neil Ramirez
6. Mike Olt
7. Engel Beltre
8. Luis Sardinas
9. David Perez
10. Michael Kirkman
11. Robbie Ross
12. Jake Skole

Who am I forgetting because supposedly the top 15-20 guys all have real shots at being big league stars or contributors?

I think we all decided that a couple of players were kind of high on those lists due to advanced age, slow development and persistent lack of productions. In my list Engel Beltre and Tanner Scheppers are way to high. Both are rated highly due to their "tools" but not their performance.
