I'm just wondering if those injuries were because of bad form or technique during weight lifting or during a practice routine.

It's possible. Whenever there are a couple players with similar injuries, the S&C coach comes under scrutiny. If there's only 2, it's probably not a concern, but if it happens more, there could be problems.

Strength and Conditioning is directly responsible for preventing these kinds of injuries. No you can't eliminate them but conditioning goes a long ways to preventing them. Someone already said it, when it comes to ligaments it's not the strength part it is the conditioning. Increasing the athlete's flexibility is part of the conditioning. You can't just pump weights and go out there and expect your body to hold up. You have to have regular stretches, dynamic warm-ups and continuous activity. Not pushing them to the limits activity but something to keep them from going cold. Running in place was common when I was young for this. Not saying they do, and it doesn't sound like it from what the media has been saying since they can get into practices but with only one week into practice and two torn ligaments I would be looking at the conditioning. Might be coincidence and bad luck but seems like a red flag to me.

Well, like I said before, it took 7 seasons under Bo Pelini for this to happen.

I think it's just seriously coincidence.

If you want a real red flag then ye should look at what happens consistently under Bo Pelini.

We consistently have poor fundamentals on Defense and we consistently lose 4 games a year.

I just watched this and it brought tears to me eyes.

Cot dammit this was so awesome.

So awesome!!! I am way up in top of North Stadium and had started walking down the stairs because takes 30 minutes to get out of stadium if wait. I was stopped on the stairs when the play happened. I looked back at my friend and I think I said many times "Holy shit, holy shit, did that just happen?

Yeah I'm with JJM on this one. I don't think it's S&C's fault. Injuries just happen and I think it wS just the husker's turn for bad luck

Just like every year in the NBA at least 1 or 2 stars get hurt and it's just tough luck for that team.

And the defense consistently takes 5 or 6 games to start playing without massive assignment confusion.

Of the injured, one is a sophomore and one is a junior.

Of the suspended, he is a sophomore.

In order of impact............

1. (S) Alexander (So)
2. (LB) Rose (So)
.
.
.
.
.
.
3. (DB) Jackson (Jr)

Good thing BoP redshirted all those guys a couple years ago.

The back 7 on this defense was going to be young regardless.

Because Jackson has been a big contributer the past 2 seasons on special teams?

I don't think the void of his nickel contributions in 2012 and 2013 is that hard to fill.

It's well known he's had difficulty picking up the system. Who's to say 2014 was going to be any different?

RA, yes he had trouble grasping the system in the past

But all reports out of fall camp so far had been that he had grasped nickel by the throat and wasn't letting go until that bitch was dead
