Ciante was never as good as he was pumped up to be.

He would make some of the most absolutely awesome plays and then turn right around and completely blow a huge assignment.

UCLA pushed Ciante's shit in both of the past 2 seasons.

RA, yes he had trouble grasping the system in the past

But all reports out of fall camp so far had been that he had grasped nickel by the throat and wasn't letting go until that bitch was dead

Would you expect the coaches to say he sucked or do their typical pump-fest spring/fall practice update dance?

You should know that by now chuck.

2015 will be a good year for Nebraska. I have high hopes. Both the defense and offense will be veteran units, just missing Ameer Abdullah and probably Randy Gregory. Hopefully, Avery Moss comes back.

This year I had expected the defensive backfield to be the weak link. With Alexander being suspended that was a crushing blow and made it even worse. I thought Alexander was one of the better players in the secondary.

With RAs list of the defensive secondary, wow, offenses will be throwing the ball at Nebraska a lot.

I'm telling you guys.......Jonathan Rose is set for a breakout season.

Kid was like the #2 DB prospect in the entire country coming out of High School.

He is a freakish athlete with ridiculous potential.

It wasn't the coaches, it was observations from people watching the practice. And it wasn't "he looks good, solid". It was "Cjax has clearly finally out it all together and found his home" cause he had been moving around all over the secondary and hasn't found a home yet

I'm not saying we are losing 2009 Suh level impact here RA, I'm just saying we are losing a guy who was supposed to start, and by all accounts had finally made "the leap"

Exactly.

1. Alexander is unquestionably high impact.

2. Rose is a significant impact.

3, Jackson is a spring/fall practice (rhetorical) impact who was highly criticized when hype wasn't necessary.

I would say LeRoy is definitely the 1a tho

No doubt. Some guys stand out the first time you see them on the field. You see their # near the action consistently. Alexander was that guy as a R/S freshman.

I hope he cleans up his act and returns next season.

I won't argue that CJax is the biggest hit but he was the coaches #1 choice at nickel and that has to stand for something

I believe 2015 is gonna be bo best chance at a championship since 2010. defense will be strong offense should be good too.

I've questioned S&C for quite some time, so I'd still lean towards that. But honestly like someone said, if it's only 2 guys and the other backups remained uninjured, then yea it's probably coincidence.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't see Alexander that big of a loss. I'm looking forward to seeing Gerry back there. I think that guy has that "it" factor.

Rose is the biggest loss to me. we seemed to play the best last year when he was in the middle running the defense.
