The guy needs to be a Super Bowl winner for the trade to be fair.

Not really...idk if "fair" is this right word, but it's always going to be an imbalanced trade, if the Rams are a perennial playoff team for a 5 or 6 yrs...he gave them a chance at winning a SB...in other words, made the Rams relevant again....then you can say he at least did his part.

Even that is a long stretch.

Bend don't break

Giving up touchdowns is more important than yards, bottom line.
PPG allowed is only inflated because it includes offensive mistakes and special teams mistakes.

My stats were the important stats, not some bullshit yards allowed and wavey PPG allowed stat.

Oh, my mistake then. They are definitely an elite defense you build around...

They were:
-23rd in ppg
-23rd in pypg
-20th in rypg
-11th in sacks
-18th in first downs 14thP/18thP
-9th in takeaways

Yep, those are some great numbers for an elite defense you build around...
Any team's offense that is 32nd in first downs and 32nd in yards per game is going to have some regression on the defense. For all of Denver's woes, they still averaged 42 more yards per game. The defense was better than those stats but still not quite elite. STL linebackers weren't great at all last year. Ogletree was out and Laurinaitis was a bum.

I don't see any way for the Rams to compete next year, though. The Rams are giving the Titans a top 5 pick next year almost guaranteed.

That's the first thing I thought of. Team moves back to LA, needs to generate buzz, what better way than with a #1 overall?

Maybe not a League office conspiracy, but definitely a good PR move by the team.

Not to mention that you are moving to a new city and an attempt to interest new fans kind of falls flat when you're looking at Nick Foles or Case Keenum.

I happy for your Hammer, they are starting to build something in Tennessee.

Haven't been this excited in a long time. And it really makes clear just how bad Ruston Webster was for the Titans.

I think they have a great DL & a good young player in Ogletree. But as a whole, the defense was middle of the pack last season. Now you lose your top CB & a few solid, not great veterans. I can't see this defense being any better this year without the draft talent to fill those holes.

That is why I laugh when people are saying they have a RB & defense to build around. Like throwing 10 picks at a possible franchise QB who almost everyone scouting him saying he needs a few years riding the pine before he is ready to take a snap, is going to make this team any better.

Titans talent level should be on par with the Carolina Panthers moving forward unless they bomb the draft. They basically get to build a defense and an oline of their choice.

I don't think Tenn needs to move up.

They have loads of needs. And frankly need to completely rebuild a defense that is full of 43 personnel.

The analytics also are not crazy about moving up.

I really don't know anything about this Wentz kid, but I can't believe that he is worth 2 firsts, 2 seconds & 2 thirds.

Meanwhile, if the Titans have 2 solid drafts they could be really good for the next 4-5 years.

perfect timing too.

With Manning gone and Brady pushing 40 the window is open.

Nothing would make me happier than for a young Tenn upstart to knock brady out of the playoffs in his final game.

Send the cheater into the retirement the way he should...with an epic playoff loss.
