It kills me that people get so bent out of shape over this.

Does it bother me that players are kneeling during the anthem? Yes it does. To be honest it really pisses me off but as a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served for 10 years I recognize their right do so. I served so people would have the freedom to do the things they want even if I do not agree with it.

I've never really gotten this angle of if I can't do it why should they. The NFL in theory could throw all these guys out of work, but the drop off would make it like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Most people's jobs don't afford them that luxury.

If people has something unique and valuable to offer, "compensation" often goes beyond just the money. Not fair I guess unless you can run a 4.0 forty.
