Some cop giving you a ticket for something else pretty much makes my case for me - smoking weed is not illegal, possession of it is.

As for DUI, I'm not sure how they handle that, but if he is obviously intoxicated then yeah.

However, after the fact, there is nothing they can do about it because the laws all revolve around possession.

The only other way it could be illegal is the DUI.

Got arrested for possession in Alabama in 2001. Hartselle PD got me on Highway 31 heading to Decatur right before the valley with the store at the bottom next to the road that goes through Cry Baby Hollow.

I grew up in that area. Moved between North Alabama and the Nashville area a good bit.

It's better than Cullman(lived in Battleground and still have family there) and Lawrence County(lived out in Town Creek a few years, no family there).

I haven't lived in Alabama since like 2003. I only go to visit family now. If I move "back home", It'll be in the Nashville area. Less than a 2-hour drive and I like the area more. Wife grew up in Somerville, her folks still live there. Mine live near Brooksville.

There is such things as internal possession laws. South Dakota had them. The only way to possess weed internally is to smoke it.
