Yeah but Mettenberger did pretty good for a rookie against teams other than Pittsburgh. Mettenberger if you look at the replay had a Pittsburgh defender in his face when he threw that 80 yard TD but the thing is he played a lot times last year better than a rookie.

Meh, he had some good games, but sucked in other games. Has some promise, but let's not get carried away.

If you had to watch Jake Locker four years you'd get carried away too,lol. Mettenberger was a breath of fresh air after watching Locker sabotage the QB spot with Tennessee. Mettenberger had an 85 pass rating rating as rookie while Locker in his fourth year could only get a 70 passer rating thats how bad he was. In back to back games against Cincy and Dallas Locker had identical stats in both games throwing 17 of 34 basically completing only 50% of his passes in two games where the rest of the team played well but Locker couldn't come through. In many of his games he completed under 50%. They should've cut him like Jax cut Gabbert and TN also messed up giving Locker the starting job in 2014 although Mettenberger performed very well in preseason.
