Yea, last year showed they don't care. I can see Auburn barely beating Alabama and getting left out. After the pounding that UGA took they only fell to 7 in the AP/Coaches - we need to see what the committee does to get a feel.

538 has AU at 80-90% to make the playoffs if they win out...

Only way I could see that happening is if Bama barely loses to the barn, and the barn barely survives UGA in a rematch.

If the barn beats Bama by ten or more and then goes on to mow the lawn with UGA, they're most likely in the playoffs, and Bama is relegated to an also-ran bowl.
