Coming out of the break, we've got a 10 game road trip:

3 @ PIT
4 @ CIN
3 @ WAS

I'm thinking they will be relatively healthy (Tyro, Haniger, Brebbia, Jackson excepted).

What is a reasonable trip? I'm thinking 6-4 is the baseline expectation and I'm hoping for 7-3.
1-2 in Pit
2-2 in Cin :hope:
2-1 in DC

if we go 5-5, I am OK with it. Not HAPPY, but OK.

Logan Webb has thrown 126 innings this year, more than any pitcher in the majors.

Nobody else has even thrown 120.

It's actually 11 games, they have a 1 game makeup in Detroit right after DC

I think 7-4 is certainly doable and what to shoot for. Frankly it's just if the bats wake up or not.

good call. I forgot about the makeup tigger game.

Yes, 7-4 would be my baseline.

I think the real best options are Winn, Harrison and Beck. Disco is just too damned inconsistent; Wood is only good for 3 IP max; Manaea and Junis are OK long men…

And if you are talking about 2024 specifically, I have a hard time relying on Cobb. Dude is almost as old as us.

Really rooting for J.

But I dunno, Wood or Disco have been effective before. Maybe Winn or Beck?

DeSclafani is joining the Giants in Pittsburgh so remains on track to come off the IL and make an appearance in Cincinnati.

Don't see him as an automatic add. Even before the injury, he seemed to be headed toward insurance policy. That being said, a lot can happen in a month. Hopefully, we don't need him and he goes to AAA.

Unless, you are wondering who gets removed from the 40 man roster? The Giants need to make a decision earlier than that on Ramos. His rehab clock started June 28th so the Giants have to make a decision on adding him back to the 40 tomorrow! I would guess that one of Isan Diaz, Bryce Johnson or Mauricio Llovera get the axe.

I doubt Llovera gets cut. I like Diaz and BJ, so we'll see what happens.

Usually, this works itself out. Injuries happen.

Waites is a possibility (though I doubt he will be sacrificed). He has had a rough year after his helium-filled ‘22.

Assuming there won’t be a surprise 60-add, I would guess Llovera or Diaz. Johnson is good, but he doesn’t look to have much of an up side beyond what he provides now (defense and speed with next to zero bat).

The Giants have jettisoned both Llovera and Johnson in the past, so I wouldn't be surprised on either. Diaz seems to be getting buried in the depth charts. His injury put him behind others and his offensive numbers so far this year in AAA are lagging far behind what he did last year. Couple that with the fact that he lacks the positional flexibility (he played 2nd base exclusively last year and has only played one game at any position other than 2nd so far this year) that the Giants crave and I don't see how he could last much longer on the 40 man roster.
