I hear that but I’m through with Little Engine That Could level moral victories. They’re ND. They should not only compete in these spots they should win their fair share of the contests. That hasn’t happened at ND since Holtz. Kelly did a fine job rebuilding the infrastructure of the program but he couldn’t find a way to compete against the elite in college football.ND and Marcus Freeman represented themselves well.....they just need to keep improving.
Irish have two more chances this season (Clemson and USC) to change that narrative plus a bowl game. I’m not being critical of Freeman. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Last night just shows them how far away they are. Defensively they can compete. That OSU team will average close to 40 a game in B10 play. They need to improve offensively.
