Freeman inherited a team that for whatever reason can’t finish vs elite teams. His first two games he was thrown to the wolves. It takes time to get that figured out and the ship righted. My biggest criticism of Freeman last night was the poor clock management at the end of the 1H. No need for that time out. Most of what can occur at that point that is impactful is bad.Njigba going down was a big issue early as they missed on a play he would've turned into a td heading into halftime but I still say no excuses. Osu is absolutely loaded at WR. Stroud started rolling the pocket in the 2nd and looking comfortable and that opened everything up.
I've never seen a player as fast (not that he's anywhere near Fields or Pryor or something) who absolutely refuses to scramble so seeing him do that was nice. Even Haskins had designed runs that would be effective.
Notre Dame has a very stout D though and if they get qb figured out they will be tough.
