Or maybe you aren't:noidea:
If the Browns pass at QB at #1 it means they just didn't think any of these guys are all that good. QBs aren't plug and play. You see a stud and you take them and they will take a QB at #1 unless they don't like any of them.
I am I just don't like you so I mostly ignore you.

And then you make the playoffs and Tyrod Taylor goes 17/37, 134 Yds, O Tds and 1 Interception
But he runs for 80, Barkley goes for 180 and they trounce the Chiefs 30-10.

You don't need an elite RB to win in the NFL. The teams that win and make it far in the playoffs are teams with great QB play or outstanding defensive play. All you need is a good running attack and you're good.

The draft is loaded with quality backs so the best move for the Browns would be to take a QB at 1 and Chubb at 4. If they are so inclined they could still grab a great RB at the top of the 2nd.

Kareem Hunt and Karmara where two of the best backs in the league last season and they were both 3rd round picks. It's more important to grab an RB that fits what you want to do on offense than grabbing the best RB in the draft.
And Elliott and Fournette MADE their teams playoff teams. Hunt and Kamara went to perennial playoff teams. Browns need that IT guy on offense and that's Barkley.

Duke Johnson probably could've gotten 180 against the Chiefs run D last year but that score seems doubtful. When teams run all over the other team they control the clock and usually the score isnt that lopsided.

For the record, I'm for the Browns getting a QB and Barkley. Its Chubb that doesn't make any sense.

Fournette did jack shit to make the Jags. Completely bizarre how the defense putting up pass D numbers rivaling anyone and somehow it's the decent but not great RB who gets the pub as making that team.

Thats pretty much the strat the Browns have been using for the last 20 years get a serviceable free agent QB and draft the "safe" picks. Where has it got them? The only time they've used there first pick on a QB in franchise history was Tim Couch and they've been pussyfooting ever since.

Since 2004(1st year without Tim Couch the last QB they used their first pick on) 1st round QBs they've passed on with their first pick to trade back or take a "safer position"
Big Ben
Aaron Rodgers
Jason Campbell
Mark Sanchez
Josh Freeman
Tim Tebow
Jake Locker
Blaine Gabbert
Christian Ponder
Ryan Tannehill
EJ Manuel
Teddy Bridgewater
Carson Wentz
Mitch Trubisky
Patrick Mahomes
Deshaun Watson

Instead they got these safer picks
Kellen Winslow II
Braylon Edwards
Alex Mack
Joe Haden
Phil Taylor
Trent Richardson
Barkevious Mingo
Justin Gilbert
Corey Coleman
Myles Garrett
9 of those QBs are completely worthless. And the last three are still in progress. You've only got 3 good picks in there.

Ahh good ole groupthink. Everyone in the know also say Barkley is not going top-5, so what does your precious group think of that?
They said the same thing about Elliott and Fournette. How'd that turn out dumbfuck? They went top 5. They went to the playoffs.

You degenerates are years behind on this league. RBs matter again. Fact.

Those QBs are a example of QBs that don't get drafted at 1.1 If you go back and list QBs drafted at 1.1 it's a solid list. Last really bust was the Raiders drafting Russell.
Stafford has had no RB and therefore can't win shit even though he is a hell of a QB.

Offensive identity matters. I've explained it to you previously, but you'll understand some day. Fournette gave them what they didn't have.

He was insanely overrated. They'd of been so much better off taking another RB later on. He averaged 3.9 YPC, but also had a 90 yard run, which accounted for 8% of his overall production. Outside of that 1 run, he averaged 3.5 YPC. Imagine if they'd have been smart and grabbed Jamal Adams in the 1st round and snagged Hunt in the 3rd instead. That's scary.

They could've had that with several other RBs in that draft though.

I think what a lot of people are discounting is how Barkley would impact Taylor. A great RB is important to every QB but far far more important to some based on the style that QB plays. Taylor, maybe moreso than any other middle tier or better QB, us dependent on guys he can check down to that can make plays after the catch. He's risk averse to the extreme so a guy who can catch a 4 yard screen pass and turn it into a 23 yard play is more important to him because he's going to throw more of those types of passes. It's also why Njoku is likely to have a phenomenal year in Cleveland

Do you think hunt would have been better for the Jags than Fournette was?? I wont buy this... the problem with football analysis is that we just assume a players stats would be similar no matter what team they were on... a bust on one team could just as well be a STUD for another...
