Playing a Round Robin Conference Schedule, then a CCG is the most retarded thing I have ever heard of.

It screams of being desperate.

No, not desperate, greedy. We can get teams in the playoff already if people scheduled OOC better. This is about the dolla bills.

Baylor didn't miss playoffs because of lack of CCG. They played KSU on last week of season.
Baylor didn't miss playoff because of bad OOC. They still had best win to tOSU's worst loss.
Baylor missed playoffs because Committee had a chance to put in a big name school instead of them.

Having said that... Baylor can take that chance away from the Committee by beating some power 5 OOC teams... but it's not a guarantee that would help. I doubt if Baylor beating Cal or Iowa or VT would have kept tOSU from jumping them... but , yes, they can try, and they will... because the 4-Team Scheme incentivises them to do so.

*Correction: I assume if baylor beat VT who beat tOSU, then Baylor would be a lock for the 4-Spot... but who knows...

Screaming for a year, Round Robin is better, one true champion, then crowning co champs in the very first year is pathetic. The Big12 can try to expand back to 12 teams or get left behind. The Big12 is in a bad position, I can't see any quality teams wanting to join the conference. If they aren't very careful, they could end up with the same respect as the Mountain West.

Yet, the Big 12 appealed to the NCAA about it once already. From January 2013

Big 12 in talks with NCAA about 12-team conference rule - CBSSports.com

Big 12 paid $415,000 for the logo and slogan, "One True Champion"

Morons.

They should have changed the policy of 'sharing' or 'co-champions' as well, and it would have mitigated all this pansy panic.

The Big12 should not change a thing, except to change the co-champion clause, which was voted for by all the members. Not sure of the vote count, but they did vote and approve this.

Everything else is knee-jerk, reactionary, panic caused moves, imo.

They should only expand if they can flip some big team/school from another P5 conference. If they can get one, then take BYU, make 12.

Anything else is a fail. A financial fail, a 'we got another small-stadium, bringing no increase in TV money fail.

Just leave it the way it is, and declare one champ.

Oklahoma and Texas just need to move to another conference and leave the remaining teams to be the Big 8 again.

Seems really awkward if you're playing a round robin only to play the same team again in the CCG. Might as well set up a double elimination tourney while they're at it.

The BIG 12 missed the playoffs because OHIO STATE won 59-0.
It had nothing to do with the lack of a CCG.

The 2 teams were playing at the exact same time versus a similar opponent.
It was not a case where the Big 10 has some extra game while the Big 12 was finished playing.
Literally the games were playing at the same time.

Baylor played a top 15 team and won by 11.
Ohio State played a top 15 team and won by 59.
Had those scores been reversed, Baylor gets the playoff spot.

Probably true. And, if Wisconsin had beaten Ohio State, it would have eliminated them from contention instead of helping get them in.

The B12 did play 1 fewer game and the CCG did provide the rest of the conference champs with an opportunity to put another top 15 win under their belts. In that light, the B12 is just hurting itself w/o one.

I agree. Co champs is just horrible. The B1G did that shit for years, so lame. There should be one champion.

If Baylor had scheduled a better OOC opponent, they would have lost that game, gone 10-2, and would have been out of the playoffs anyway.

Why am I the only one who seems to get this???

It's not the OOC, it's not the lack of a CCG -- it's losing a game to a shitty-assed West Virginia.

TCU's problem is, they lost a game to a team that lost to West Virginia.

So the problem, as we can all clearly see, is West Virginia. Now that Luck is no longer the AD, look for them to get kicked to the curb. 10 teams, 9 teams, no big difference.

They don't need to add anything of quality, just big schools. BYU and Colorado State works, makes geographical sense, puts you in the Denver and salt lake city markets, and BYU is a big school already, and Colorado state is at least a state school that would already own the state. Big ten added two duds and they're just fine.

Big 12 just needs Texas & OU to become relevant again. Like the so called experts have been saying, had it been Texas & OU instead of TCU & Baylor, tOSU doesn't make the playoff.
