(5) ACC teams in the AP Top 25-

1) Duke
5) uNC
8) Virginia
13) Louisville
19) Syracuse

While 10 teams received votes!

This may be the deepest the league has ever been heading into a season.

2004/05 pre-season rankings:

2.) Wake Forest
3.) Georgia Tech
4.) North Carolina
11.) Duke
15.) Maryland
19.) NC State

1994/95

2.) North Carolina
7.) Maryland
8.) Duke
14.) Virginia
23.) Georgia Tech
24.) Wake Forest

6/9 teams pre-season ranked in the Top 25

There have been many years in ACC history, back when we had 8-9 teams, that the ACC had 50%+ of their schools in the pre-season top 25. In comparison, 5/15 = 33%

Think people in this era are over-rating numbers and under-rating percentages.

btw, Wake insiders are claiming that the Deacs had a very competitive "secret" scrimmage with Maryland. One insider even went as far as to say Wake won.

Just as a reminder, there aren't many things in sports that are more irrelevant than the results of "secret" scrimmages in CBB.

I agree that the ACC has had 6 out of 9 teams in the past ranked. I have never seen 10 teams get votes.

Scout has him ranked #25. I believe Duke has taken him off the radar at this point. He's a UK lean IMHO.

SU's still waiting on their first 2017 recruit....and will lose at least 4 players at years end. They better get someone wrapped up.

True, but from 1953-2004, the ACC had anywhere from 7-9 teams. Have only operated as an 11+ team league since the 2004/2005 season.

The kid either took money or he didn't. He's either clean, or he isn't. Which is it, NCAA? Let the kid play from day one, or not at all.

Gott continues to score big recruiting classes at NCSU. However, the lack of player development for kids that are ranked outside of the Top 40, continue to be an issue for him and NCSU. Yurtseven and Smith Jr are clear one and done players. Rumor has it that Smith Jr is already better than Cat Barber.

Still have no idea why Boeheim announced a set date for his retirement.

Yeah......me either. I have to think that is part of the reason SU's not received a verbal yet. But I'm being told all is good and to relax.

Nick Richards, one of the highest-rated recruits in the 2017 class, has narrowed his list of colleges down to three schools and set a date for a final decision.

Richards posted on his Twitter page that he would decide between Syracuse, Kentucky and Arizona on Thursday, Nov. 10. He will make the announcement at his high school.
