Sounds like Wake is going to secret scrimmage Maryland somewhere. Secret scrimmages are generally good for the team, but fans drawing conclusions from the reported results has always been a bad idea.

Duke, Kentucky, KU top CBS Sports' 1-351 college basketball rankings

CBS' rankings of all 351 CBB teams has been released.

Here's the ACC in order:

1. Duke (1)
2. UNC (6)
3. Virginia (9)
4. Louisville (16)
5. Syracuse (21)
6. Miami (27)
7. Florida St. (31)
8. NC St. (32)
9. Pittsburgh (36)
10. Virginia Tech (48)
11. Notre Dame (52)
12. Clemson (62)
13. Wake Forest (101)
14. Boston College (196)
15. Georgia Tech (218)

From my calculations and if CBS is correct (here's a hint: they'll probably end up being totally wrong outside of the Top teams)

The ACC will get 9 teams into the NCAA Tournament, with VT and Notre Dame narrowly missing the cut.

Also, my point about the ACC being a tougher league in the 70s, 80s, early-to-mid 90s and 2001-2005, holds true according to these rankings (even if I do think these rankings are somewhat bogus outside of the obvious Top tier teams). ACC back then didn't have teams as weak as this year's versions of Boston College and Georgia Tech. Would put in Wake with that group as well, but I unsurprisingly think that Wake will end up much better than #101. BC and GT have a supreme lack of talent.

@douggie you coming to ny 12/6?

I wish I could. I'm slammed at work and that's the busiest time of the year for us. I know that's Duke vs Florida in MSG in the Jimmy V Classic too. Plus it's like on a Tuesday or something, right? Jeez, I'll be watching on tube I guess.

He has a chance to step up this year, so this hurts. I haven't really been impressed with him in his first two years, other than that he has great athleticism that should help him on the defensive side of the ball. He's a Greensboro kid, so I hope he does well.

He missed 14 games his freshman year when he broke his foot then. This time he had to have surgery. Which leads me to think he may miss the whole season this time around. I hate for any kid to get hurt. Even when they play for the holes.

Didn't know that.

FWIW, Miller-McIntyre had the same injury last year, and he was back before Christmas. However, it was the first and only time he had that injury, not the second.

Well that's not good.... Tatum goes down with a foot injury with an NBA scout saying, "a stress reaction to his foot"
