Still no takers for Kaepernick as Seattle passes on him

The Seahawks looked like Kaps best chance to find a team until the Hawks decided to go with a slightly better version than a living scarecrow and signed Austin Davis instead. Yup, Austin Davis over Kaepernick.

This leads me to believe that Kap must be still be looking for big money. Seattle isn't about to pay someone several million to sit on the bench. Either that or teams just don't want the media and fan headaches that would come with signing a polarizing guy like Kaepernick. Either way I'm fine with the decision. I never wanted Kap on the Hawks.

Or RW was worried about bringing in Kaep as his backup and nixed that idea.

So the Seahawks went w/ Austin Davis who's only started 10 games his entire career & last played in the NFL in '15 w/ the Browns. Does Seattle really think he's a better back up QB than Kaepernick?

They went with a guy jettisoned from Cleveland. :L

Yep. And I was shocked when I saw that. Not only did the Browns give up on him, he wasn't even in the league last year.

Yep and I'd love him in Oakland over EJ Manuel.

LOL

How bad is the state of the QB position when EJ Manuel and Austin Davis can find jobs

Exactly. But, only because Cook is 1-2 years away from being a decent backup option.

Yup, its all pretty un-important anyway, cause any team that loses their starting QB, especially one like Carr, seasons over anyway

I just find it funny how awful QB's can last forever in this league

matt Cassell is still kicking around somewhere

Oh, I really do hope the Raiders have Connor Cook as their backup QB for the next decade.

Seriously, though. There is no reason that Kaepernick isn't backing up a QB somewhere outside of his protests

Is he really being blackballed or is he just asking for way too much money? It's probably a bit of both, but he's going to need to take a substantial pay cut if he expects to find a team this season. He didn't do himself any favors by sitting through the anthems last year and playing like shit either.

There are a lot of arguments: He needs the right system, he is asking too much etc. But as posted when you see some of the horrible QBs still getting checks it certainly appears as if he is being black balled. I was never a fan of his protest, and I fucking hated the pig socks. But this is certainly unfair IMO and it may force me to root for the asshole.

Not many, but from an organizational standpoint, you have to decide is it worth your fanbase possibly going apeshit, just to sign a QB that may not take a snap for your team all season

I expect him to be coming to the CFL relatively soon. Guy's to talented not to be starting somewhere this year.

That is one of the rumors.

If it's true.....RW is a weak stick mentally. You should always want your team to improve themselves.

Ask yourself, if RW gets hurt who would give them a better chance to win? Kaep who had several solid games last season or Davis who hasn't played in a game since 2015?

Especially if your team was a hated rival of the guy in the first place. Like the Seahawks for example.
