I don't know if that's the last game at the NVMC, but if it is, it was a damn fine one.

Real hard not to be pessimistic after the way they lost that one. There was no reason the 2nd goal should've been an opportunity. If they had lost on a goal other than that, I'd be okay. But that was a very Capsy way to lose a playoff game.

Well for the Caps at least game 7 is at home. Good series.

Even if the Isles lose in game 7, the fans got to see the last home game as a win.

I'm looking at recent game 7 history for the Caps...

2008 playoffs - lost against the Flyers at home
2009 playoffs - won against the Rangers at home, lost badly to the Pens at home
2010 playoffs - lost against the Habs at home
2011 playoffs - (no game 7s)
2012 playoffs - won against the Bruins on the road, lost against the Rangers on the road
2013 playoffs - lost against the Rangers at home
2014 playoffs - (did not qualify)

So in the "Ovechkin era," the Caps are 2-5 in game 7s with a dreadful 1-4 record in game 7s at home. In franchise history, we are 3-9 in game 7s.

I think we'll win, I really do. But given our history of failure and disappointment, it's hard to feel positive about it and not dread the game tomorrow in some fashion.

In 2009 they won a Game 7 in the first round and then three years later was when they won the next Game 7 in a first round, now it's three years later and they have a chance to win their next Game 7 in a first round

Great game 6 for the Isles. I really think they did a good job forcing the play in the Caps end. Holtby was pretty good again but I think Halak outplayed him in that one....I was also very surprised that Capuano went with Mayfield on DEF over Pulock to help the PP. I guess the mindset in this series is, put some size on the back end...he and Donovan did a good job but it was definitely in sheltered minutes. They'll be the third pairing again tonight and if I'm Trotz, I exploit that all game. Weird seeing Capuano 'coach' a good game.

This series has shown that if you stop Ovie and Backstrom, you can win if your the Isles.

Fuck game 7's. There's no way I get any amount of stuff done today.

You should just leave now and head to the phone booth. Grab lunch on the way.

Dear Capitals,
Don't fuck this up.

Signed, everyone outside of the NYC Metro.

You think the league and all fans outside NYI fans are rooting for the Caps?
