Disappointing loss for the Isles. Their defense was a major concern and I think despite all the injuries, they held their own. Halak was fantastic. I guess our biggest problem was our offense....which was never a problem. Odd the way that works.

Congrats Caps fans. I'd say I'm happy for you but I'm not. This is very similar to the 2002 series the Isles/TO had. Left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I agree. I wouldn't give up too much for Kessel but I agree they need a scorer for JT.

My one hope out of all of this is that Capuano gets canned. He benched Lee (25 goals) and Nelson (20 goals) at certain points during the series for Tyler Kennedy and Colin McDonald. All while Grabner (ex-30 goal scorer and fastest in the league) watched from the pressbox. There's a reason why you are only scoring 1 goal per game. You are putting stone hands out there over your scorers.

Oh yeah, while I'm on it. Doug Weight should get canned too. 0-15 on the PP all series. GFY!!

Good series by both teams. I think the Islanders outplayed the Caps for the most part as a whole throughout the series, with the exception of games 5 and 7 where the Caps dominated. The Caps controlled this game from the start, but it seemed as if Halak may steal another one...he certainly takes none of the blame for this one. 11 shots in a game 7 just isn't gonna cut it. Can't help but wonder if the Isles were wore down a bit by the bigger Caps. Pretty sure the Caps won't get by the Rangers...they are simply the better team; but at least i have this moment to tide me over. Great series by the Isles though...this was about as even a series as you can get.

I think the Caps have a much better chance of getting by the Rangers than the Isles would have.
